I just picked up a 79 280zx and I have so much work i basically have nothing no trim, a bunch of rust luckily it runs and drives but that's about it haha, love seeing the build can't wait to actually start mine!

I know how you feel about lacking inspiration bro. I had to do a lot of google searching to find cool looking 280zx haha. 100% doing the mechanical side of things next! Mine runs like an absolute dream. Has 200,000k's (124k miles) on it. The engine bay looks like an absolute rats nest of wires and whatnot though. I can't wait to tidy it up! Red can become black very quickly with this vinyl spray 😝. I've bought some generic seals off Ebay that I believe are going to do the trick beautifully! I'll update you when they arrive.

Check out TAUTFLEX its a waterbased paint that was developed to paint flexible vinyl surfaces. i've done a heap of Porsche interiors, it waters down well for thin coats and hard wearing , does leather seats well too. Also try dissol cleaner for cleaning the trim before colouring/dying , its the bomb .

@@itsmikelake i used to wreck Porsche 928's just south of Cranbourne before i moved up to Macleay Island 10 years ago , i only have one left lol , though its a 928SE (Porsche made 42) . The trick to the Tautflex is dont be afraid to water it down heaps and lots of light coats using a rag , the stuff just sticks really well if prepped with the Dissol .

I initially thought the same thing until I actually sprayed it. Turns out it looks amazing! Definitely doesn’t look cheap.
