I'm out of highschool and have just started diving in to my dads old 1600 roadster that has been sitting in our side yard for 20 years. I've been catching up on your series and the way you produce these are gonna make them extremely useful for me to reference along my own build! Underrated channel

For those looking to tackle the sound deadening like this BEWARE! It contains asbestos and wire wheeling it is probably the most hazardous way to remove it. I see he has a respirator on which is good, but does it have the right P2 filters fitted? You also need to be clean shaven for the respirator to provide any protection at all. The dust generated will have respirable asbestos fibres in it, it will be on your skin and clothes. Too late for 32 Builds but everyone else should treat this material with caution! Also great job though, your patience to do this with a wire wheel on a drill is admirable!
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip!! Yes I've got the appropriate filters on them but thanks for the tip on the clean shaving!! I noticed my boogies didn't come out discolored afterwards so I think the respirator mostly did its job, but I'll give my face a good shave for when I tackle the other side! And will definitely mention it in a video! Thanks for helping me learn and grow from this!

Hey man, really loving following this build, always excited for the next ep. Just FYI, you can get Dry Ice from any local BOC Gas and pretty sure you only need an Esky. I got some last year to help pull a jammed bearing out of a machine at work.

Oh nice! Thanks for the tip :) Maybe I'll try get some for the other side! Just for a comparison shot. Thanks for watching Potato ❤

From memory I think the floors should have flouts in them not a 100% sure but I cant remember them being flat
@FMuscleZ283 жыл бұрын
There mostly flat in the foot wells. Of course my 1990 GB122 has a big bulge for the converter next to the tunnel. The area under the seat has more shapes to it.
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Its the same on the drivers side and the paint on the metal looks quite OEM. It could be the beads under the seat you're remembering :)
@FMuscleZ283 жыл бұрын
I was just in the same area today! I took seats and carpets off my GB122, and cleaned panels that haven't seen light since they were painted in March/April 1990. Can you tell me, since you had the tray sides off, I have two bolts behind the seatbelt run on the RH side (none on the LH side) about level with the door handle, what are they for?
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Thats awesome! Not sure that I know of the bolts you're talking about. My shell was pretty bare when I got it!

Love the work you are doing on the Dutsen 1200 pickup I have a Dutsen 1400 pickup 1985 model and your videos have helped alot. I'm struggling to get the bearing that sits in the bottom of the steering box would you mind telling met the size of the bearing?

As always, great video. I'm finally gonna be getting the engine out of my datsun this weekend, hopefully lol. You're in Australia right? Are there any shops you'd recommend that ship internationally? I'm in the US
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Congrats! Thats so exciting :) I hope that went well for you! I know theres a couple stores in Japan like Bprojects where I've gotten heaps of parts. Otherwise I'm not sure about which of my local stores will ship internationally

It’s bituminous material so Diesel will remove small left overs.

Mate, this is such a great build. I am following it along as I progress through the same stages as you with my B120. Are the rear quarter panels welded on? Or are they just test fitted for the time being? Perhaps I missed an episode. If they are welded on, how did you go joining/blending the weld into the rear tail light panels?
@lachlancallis48003 жыл бұрын
Also, what welder did you upgrade to? And where did you get the chin spoiler, what company makes them in Aus?
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Lachy! Not welded on yet so you haven't missed it! Removing the old panels were pre-youtube though. The tail light panels have a flange that the quarter panels sit on top :)
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
Upgraded to a viper unimig 185. I've run some test welds and its a pleasure to weld with 🥰. I got the chin spoiler through eBay from a company in Asia. They send it either as one piece or in halves for a cheaper price.
@maximemichaud60943 жыл бұрын
Hey! What was your website for parts? How much does a projet like that cost?
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be able to give you a price haha 😂 I'm really drip feeding the money into this build. I usually go with eBay sellers, which there are quite a few located in Australia
@alanmears5173 жыл бұрын
Have you kept a tally of how many wire wheels you've used so far? 😂
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
I can tell you its way too many to count! 🤣😂 The stray wires are out of control!

After redoing your steering. How much play do you have on it? I am told 20mm play is normal.
@32Builds3 жыл бұрын
I remember checking so I must've been satisfied. I think it was around an inch but I'll check and adjust in the future again 😊
@stephencelliers91273 жыл бұрын
@@32Builds 1 inch = 25.4mm. :-) Thanks for the reply.
