Datsun S30 Electric Power Steering Install and Review

Finally got around to installing our electric power steering (EPS) kit in our '77 280z. Converting from manual steering rack to electric assist motor with only simple tools. Step by step process explained and reviewed at the end.

i installed this on my 1978 280z. works great. this video was SUPER helpful. thank you! one difference i found with my car that i wish i had known about (would have saved me hours of searching) was that a small amount of cars were made with a longer mounting bar for the pedals. so this kit requires you to cut a little bit of that bar away if you have one of those cars like i do. i found this info buried in the manufacturers website. it is really easy once you know. i just used a dremmel with a cuttoff wheel and nipped off a bit of the bottom of the bracket. there is enough room to do it with everything in place. this will then allow the motor cylinder to twist up in under the dash like it does in this video.

How is the power steering at the race track or at highway speeds?

This would have been easier with the l28 especially if rhd. Pretty bare on that side of the engine bay
