Lemme just say guys. I'm 23 now, please please PLEASE enjoy every moment you can no matter your age because you can never get them back. Roll and revel in the joys of your present and try to keep looking forward but don't be afraid to look back every once in awhile, just don't have too many regrets. Every age has it's own quirks and they're not going anywhere as long as you keep living.

I'm 27 and if I can give any good advice to you 18 year olds it's to never take time for granted, go after what you want to do in your life even if everyone doubts you. Enjoy your life while you can and don't take life to seriously! And please take good care of your health and skin not to mention to always wear suncream after washing your face and putting on moisturiser even if it's cold outside because suncream helps to reduce sensitivity, redness and to look young.

This August my class has our 30th reunion. Every time I hear this song it brings tears to my eyes. So many things happens over life and we have great friends who pass away close as brothers and sisters and it just brings back those memories of being young and free. Young people, enjoy your life and one day when you are 48 or so you will have a song come along that will take you back to your youth. Enjoy that as well. As time passes by memories are all we are left with.

I've been listening to Daughtry's songs from 2013 back to secondary school up to the running days. I couldn't make sense of his lyrics back then as I was still learning English and my listening skills in English were poorer, bu I never quit listening to 'em because I always felt that there was meaning in his lyrics. Today I send my huge thanks to Daughtry for being my inspiring companion during my studies, his musics and lyrics helped me to better my English and I can't help stop being his big fan. Pity my best friends back to my childhood can't understand English, I could share this song with them.

This song hit me deeply. I am currently 17 and my best (used to be) guy friend is just a few months younger than me. But I remember how close we used to be. We haven't talked in quite a while. I miss him. We used to just play around and sleep over at each others houses because we lived a few houses away. I moved out of town and haven't been in contact with him. This song sends chills down my body. And yes he is still alive....

I'm 18. Leaving my country, the town I grew up in. Leaving everyone I love, leaving my mother and grandmother, my best friends who've always been here for me. Leaving these walls, these streets, the schools I went to, the park and the lake. Even though I know I'm leaving these people, these places here for a better future, I've got two days left until my plane departs, and I feel like the upcoming 48 hours are going to be the hardest and saddest hours of my 18 years. And I won't, I can't look back. Even though I know I will meet new people and make new friends abroad, it's the hardest part to hug and kiss and say goodbye to my old friends here. This is also going to be my first Christmas alone, far from my family. But hopefully I'll get to see them again in a few months, even if it's going to be only a few days, and "we will laugh, we will cry until there's no more tears".

just turned 20 years old. I miss my teenage years. Those years were bittersweet, but at least I was happy and safe with my family. nowadays, I live in a group home, and life sucks here. My family visits me once a month, but I wish I was still a kid. I miss home and my family.

about the group home thing: I guess there are some good things about living there. I have plenty of friends who have provided invaluable support during these hard times. they know about my feelings, about my longing for home and family. as for the video, it reminds me about my childhood, about the days when I lived at home. I guess the song describes it perfectly: "living in a small town . . . where dreams are lost and buried in the ground . . ." I am just one of those people who cannot let go of home and want to "hold on to those 18 years."

Stephanie Blonshine Of course! I hope they were able to help some. Hell I feel like 100 at times too. I think we all can regardless of age. I have health issues that end up making me feel this way. Just remember that you still are your own person, even though you have a family. Yes they come first, but that doesn't mean you come last either. I have to remind my mom that all the time (my mom has like 13 years on you don't worry haha) because she still is that way and I have to remind her that even as selfless as she is, she needs to put herself first too. Well thank you for that. :) I like to think I am. You're right though. I know once I get out of school I plan to travel and work abroad before I start a family, but you're right. I need to remember to have some fun in the here and now, and I forget that a large chunk of the time because we all get so overwhelmed with our lives that we forget. Take care and God Bless, and I hope this conversation was helpful.

This is for the people who feel sad with this song. Remember, there is no magic age where you need to make memories. Live your life and make new memories. There will be good memories and there will be sad memories. Me, for example, my closest friend past away when I was 16. That memory still makes me cry, but I treasure the memories of us playing superhero, I treasure my current friends and hang out with them whenever possible. Even my therapist is a close friend. Even now in college I make new memories every year. Just because you're older than 18 doesn't mean you can't make memorable moments. 18 years is only 1 chapter in your book, the rest of the book is up to you.

When the song said: Some frozen in the same years; tears started falling down my face freely. I'm frozen in place in 9th grade and I'm never happy always looking into my past where everything was so damn happy and good and than I grew up and saw the world for what it was. I literally listened to this song abut 100 times tops. This was my first time hearing it and It's my new favorite song ever even if it brings me to a sobbing mess. My twin sister is going crazy literally she just walked out, my dad died of drinking far too much, my mom is never home, and at school I spend time with people who hate me and yet loved me in elementary. Including which I lost my best friend after she became really rich with foster parents, she was like a sister to me and now just completely ignores me like I'm invisible like everyone else.

***** You're a good person... keep challenging reality and not ignoring others cuz your helping the world. Thank you for that. It's hard to get out of your own head when your stuck in it all the time you know? I understand the whole ignoring thing cycle cuz I acknowledge it's mostly my own dang faught. When you yourself ignore the world- the people around you tend to ignore you as well. It's a nice balance that makes you want to be sociable and yet once that string is broken- as with I- makes being social seem pointless. It would be weird if people talked to me and Inever them unless they ask something firstwouldn't it? I understand it's my own faught and yet I can't make myself move out of my close-close-nit and lonely bubble that on some days feel like everything and others make me feel like a judgemental and 'superiority' and egostistic person who can't just give up and say hi to someone. While I don't really acknowledge that to myself I can see where others would willingly see me as that way. I understand others have it far more worse than me and that I sound like a whiny 5 year old. But when your stuck in your own head for so long it's hard to see the world in any other close-mindness way than this. Except that is when I escape from reality in the sense of books or my blase non-caring attitude. Everyone has their own way of coping. I don't know what I'm doing anymore but I appreciate your encouragement and support. (: I'll try my best to move forward even when sometimes I really just want to crawl in a spot and stay there forever. That's life for yah I guess. x3

Im 19 & I miss being a teenager :( Living life with no worries or regrets at the time but once you're 18 everything seems to just change in a blink of an eye & there's new things to adapt to & a different way to live life /:

My child turned 18 .... Time went in this flash. One minute your there in the moment and everything seems all hard an ruff then boom and your older an there's new hard stuff that I'm sure will pass just as quickly. Stop and take a look around every once in a while you shouldn't miss it.

I just found this song again years after I listened to it for the first time. At the time I didn't know how to speak English yet so I didn't understand half the lyrics, I was only here for the guitar. Now I can finally understand it and I'm fucking crying.
