I’m playing Dauntless right now, I play in my own party with my best-friend. I love the gameplay, especially the diverse behemoths. It’s a game you can play to pass time, or just to hang out with some friends and go kill some monsters.

I've been playing since the closed beta around 2017-2018. I was actually one of the lucky few who were chosen in the Oceania region (Australia, New Zealand area). I really enjoyed this video and its great that you're spreading awareness of our small community. To anyone who doesn't know whether or not they want to play, Dauntless has come a LONG way since the closed beta and still continues to be updated by the amazing devs. Even since this video was released, new things have been added. Only thing in this game that makes me feel like not trying it, is that it only has 1 monster, THE BOSS. I would love somehting more like MH were you fight a bunch of enemies on your way to defeat your prey.

Yeah, it currently doesn't really have that many enemies aside from the boss. There's one Behemoth, Boreus, who summons little minions to fight for him and there's certain hunt modifiers that can add additional small enemies, but there could be more.

I played it like somewhere in 2019 when the repeaters where kinda new and then i got to level 20 and now i have forgotten all of the combos but i like hammers but i dont have a well upgraded one. My favourite thing about dauntless is how much it improves with time,nothing is more satisfying than playing a game in the beta and see it exceeds all expectations by full release. I also thought there wasn't enough location and they add some cool locations for heroic hunts, the new passives and ults are great additions and I can't wait to see how much improvement the game will get in the upcoming months.

I am a massive Monster Hunter fan that has sunk multiple thousands of hours into the series over the years. I tried out Dauntless back when the game launched, hoping to bide time until Monster Hunter World came to PC. I found the combat too shallow and the physics too floaty to really appreciate Dauntless, along with the other issues you mentioned. Thankfully it's free, so a person can jump in and out of the game at their leisure, but it's just not for me. Thanks for the video, though.

I downloaded this game on my Switch a while back but only played like an hour or 2 of it, then didn’t touch it since. Tonight I remembered I had it downloaded so I decided to give it another try and didn’t realize I spent 5 hours until 5 in the morning on it. I was actually having fun with it doing solo quests and slaying beasts with other people online for certain items to either forge new weapons or armor or upgrade ones I already had. Also found myself going through a ton of quests. I did not expect to find a new game to get hooked on out of this one but man is it fun.

I already play it, very advanced into midgame. The progression is really cool, from unlocking new weapons and armor and upgrading them, to learning how a behemoth moves and how to time it's hits, the gameplay has a very rewarding feel to it, like accomplishing something really does push you forward and make you better at slaying

Honestly. The game is great. But, it's the fact that it's still "being made" that annoys me a little. About : Should you skip ? I don't exactly see how PvP would work. Full skill ? (Preset Loadouts - neutral) but ... Wouldn't a PvP system in a Monster Hunter-like be a little ... Strange ? (Can't really explain it) And yes, not enough variety in areas to explore. It's quite empty (No fauna, FOR NOW) And it's quite small (5-6 fighting zones, close together) lot of crafting ressources to gather thought. The video is great. It's always nice to see fresh faces. ^-^

Kind of had in mind the same thing. Just like mhw:I tournament (first team to kill velkhana, ect...) But I think Trials are slightly similar. (Leaderboard : Solo and Team + their time and weapon comp'.) It's just "who can dodge and hit hard" kind of gameplay. Just the fact that it changes weekly with new modifiers (Lava Pools/Small monsters/ Ice monster that inflicts shock) makes it a little different, I guess ? While mhw it's more "who has a good mastery of what weapon, dodge through an attack with miniscule i-frame, and dish out tons of damage in the process. (Because let's be honest, a CB/Hammer that doesn't know what they're doing is, pretty useless.) But imagine if they put something similar to Tempered/Arch Tempered monsters in Dauntless, just ... wow. Thanks for replying btw.

@@VagrantVideos I'm not the most expert on the subject matter, but aether strikes are pretty fast. You'll also have to Surge a lot in order to actually dodge or closing the distance when you're at the thick of it. The tricky part is to make sure you don't end up Surging too far from the behemoth because you have to run back to the thing again. A few days I'm practicing a combo between Surge & Karma Breaker so I can zig zag through the behemoth during the fight. Maybe because I'm a bit of a speed freak myself, I wanted something fast but still hard-hitting so that's why I love strikers so much. My slayer also has an attk speed lantern for the hold ability on top of attk speed potions. I am able to pull 3 ulti moves back to back so I guess aether strikes is the fastest when it comes to attacking, but I think chain blades are the fastest when it comes to dodging or kiting behemoths. But then again, currently I'm loving the strikers so much I haven't touched anything else since that 5 By 5 quest.

I'm a big monster hunter fan and I gotta say I recommend this game. I played some monster hunter clones this one is my favorite still the game needs some quality of life improvements due to some issues. But overall it's a really good game.

Im downloading this game again. Got tired of playing when it became available on ps4 because i didnt have a clear path on what exactly to do next. I love the pve and co-op play. I wish more games were co-op pve, not a fan of PvP games much. They have their place. But going to give dauntless another try, i just hope i can find another player to help me understand how to craft, gear up properly and appropriately. Maybe this next go round a tutorial for dauntless will be a bit more streamlined. I just dont want to spend more time trying to figure out how to do things rather than just doing thing. I rather be crafting than trying to figure it out for long lengths of time, only to find i messed up and lost my resources. 🤦🏾‍♂️ We'll see.

It’s really not too hard to understand the crafting system. You see what mats drop from what creatures or missions and go from there

Got the game like the week it released on console. Within the first week or two I already slayed rezakiri and shrowd. I then decided to try to get all the exotics which I did. I crafted every single armor and exotic. I maxed almost every exotic to +10. I got bored because I did all the main and side quests. I still played but not as much. You’re probably thinking “why don’t you try to craft every single weapon”?. Well back then when you broke a part off a behemoth it wasn’t 100% guaranteed that you would get the break part like it is now. It would have been a hassle to do that. After about a month or 2 I stopped playing. Then they released trials. I came back to dauntless and tried them out. I didn’t like them and wasn’t interested in them. After that I stopped playing up until now. It’s been almost a year of no playing. I’ve gotten back into dauntless last week and restarted. Hopefully they add content more frequently.

BücherMeister yeah but I liked the risk reward gameplay of the repeaters. The weapons on this game are similar to New World’s idea. My hope for Dauntless is they expand everything to become a true mmo experience!

I'm a monster hunter player and I just got the game today and it's alright but I'm going to still keep playing it tho, I still don't know what I'm doing but I'm enjoying the hunts I'm only lvl 10 atm but it's an alright game imo.

Tbh you can solo all the behemoths. However, group tends to be filled with a lot of inexperienced players, but once you get good enough, it will be incredibly easy to solo anything and carry anyone :).

Dauntless is great fun to play when you get sick and tired of just grinding Safi all the time only to get hit with a disconnect. I've done so many Safi hunts and due to disconnects I still haven't been able to craft all the safi armour. Capcom please fix

Currently the end game is pretty grindy.. But give it a try. The journey from beginning to end game is hella fun. Once you reached the grindy part just give it a break and wait for content. Its free after all

@@VagrantVideos I think around 4 to 5 years old. It is mobile only.The storyline is actually not bad and like this game, it doesn't have any PvP. The weapon and armor crafting system is a pain but worth it. It's an open world MMO. Very underrated game. Not really well known. When you get the chance, there are a few videos on it you can check out.

PvP sounds REALLY fun. The devs would have to do a lot of balancing to iron it out and make it fair. Imagine a hammer vs chain blades. See what I mean
