i played through all content provided in the beta, so i see the weapons have been changed a bit. I used to main axe with Ko king +6 and partbreaker + 6. Or else i would play warpike Barbed + 6 Razorsharp + 6 and something i forgot haha. Oh and Drask lantern all the way. Activating right before the combo finisher with the axe, and q after for huge damage. Pike could shoot 2 aether rockets in the timeframe if timed correctly.

Nate Franco The performance isn’t much better on PC either. I have RTX 2070, which runs all modern AAA games on Ultra at 2k resolution with 80+ FPS and Dauntless doesn’t even hit 60 FPS. Most of the time it’s in the 40s. Also sometimes Interactions like healing vents and mines are bugged and won’t actually perform your action. The game is optimized poorly on every platform.

@@Itsnoct primary because the behemoths attacks were not telegraphed. As in there were too many attacks you just could not avoid. The damage to you felt cheap. They have since fixed this. You now have at least fractions of a second to dodge which is how these types of games operate.

The Repeaters look like they're similar to the Light Bow-Gun from MHW, which is my all-time favourite weapon, so I'll be going with those.

@@SoRa-re1yd it's more like the bowgun from MH3tri, where you can piece a bowgun together on your own. There's only 1 base repeater and 1 sorta alternative repeater with less customization, but the base repeater have you customize what it shoots, what element, what skills, what passive, etc, and you're just stuck with it in the quest, it's not like swapping ammo. You're also basically forced to be at melee range, cuz that's the only way to get empowered reload, unlike MHW you can stay at range as long as it's in the critical range.

Great review but you forgot to cover one thing by the Hammer. When you have charge cells you can use them to make more damage. If you attack with a normal attack ( square or X ) and press the heavy attack ( triangle or Y ) before the attack impact, the slayer unloads one cell into the attack, making alot more staggering damage. If you reload with R1, the cells are weaker compared to a a reload that is gained with a weak weak weak heavy ( the jump ) attack.

Absolutely agree. I really hope the devs of Dauntless will come up with more original weapons. And hopefully it might incitate Capcom to work extra on iceborn fearing competition :D

The hammer and axe have the best DPS output of all the weapon if properly utilized. They are also the weapon of choice if you want your ass to get rekt when fighting Embermane :D
