Yo! Glad to see videos on DFO, it's my favorite game but one that flies under the radar. I wanted to touch on a few things though: Firstly, there is not a dub present; but one is being worked on. There are no details at present on when we can expect it, but we have been given snippets of what they've recorded so far. Secondly, the "several hour" campaign you mentioned is actually an event. In reality; new players joining DFO can expect their journey to max level to take several days if not weeks if they join in outside of a level event period. They have gone on record recently stating that they are aware that the new player experience is not up to par, reporting a whopping 10% new player retention rate in their more popular regions of Korea and China. They haven't posted any specifics on how they plan to address that, but it can be presumed they are working on it in the background. To expand on why PvP never took off in DFO, it plain and simply has to do with our netcode. Connection and desync issues plague the game and affect it heavily, it gets grinned and beared with in PvE, but PvP very obviously suffered for it. Thanks for taking the time to cover the game, I encourage everyone to at least give it a try :)

My impression towards it, it's not entirely fun but I hated how small the hud is and not going to squeeze my eyes to lose my sight

I tried it, seems awesome, but it's kindve dead, and I was interested in pvp, so the game being dead kept me from playing it. Apparently pvp is pretty much completely dead.

My only experience with this game was trying to sign up through Steam only to get banned like a day after creating my account despite never getting a chance to actually play the game. Didn’t really feel like contacting support after that, which is a shame because it looked cool.

This was my very first MMO back in 2006. They had an update that turned every server into a PK-anywhere server. I quit and never played it again after that, it ruined the game

The artstyle and charm is something really lacking in the current modern era of gaming The consistent color choices and design elements from the structures down even to the items, skill icons, MUSIC and even damage borders are just so uniquely attractive as a whole making me want to go back to the game everytime

This was my first MMO. I remember once you hit over 500 ( I could be wrong its been years) the leveling process slowed waaaay down but if you crafted you could get easy(ish) experience. But you could only do so much like twice a day maybe? (maybe once every 12 hours honestly don't remember) But, I would wake up early before school craft to get the easy EXP then do it again later that night...Played this game for a several years off and on and then everyone was moving to WoW and went there too. This game still holds mega nostalgia for me..PvPing in the Killing Fields..grinding Holy Caves..the lawn contests...People duping like wild...lol Blast from the past....we're getting old boys!

Hey this game was so fun! Happy few years I think about it with great nostalgia. And every time I think about it I look it up and it's always still up and going somehow. I really really hope that someone that takes this type of gameplay and makes it modern in ways that would allow people to actually enjoy it in the long run. Every piece of equipment you would get F/I/V/E(/S OR /D) That means fire ice venom electricity and strength or dexterity. It was awesome. When you got attacked if you had your armor enchanted you would do a lot of damage to whoever attacked you. In the same way if you had your weapon enchanted in that way you would do a lot of extra damage. I believe it is equal to the base damage so if you were to do 50 damage normally you would also do 50 fire or 50 ice 50 venom and 50 electricity. (Unless there are resistance) Also it was pretty cool because the first item that you enchanted with something like strength or dexterity you would get a + 2. I think that the second item would also give you a+2. The third and 4th was +1 and each subsequent item after that it was + 0.5. simple and effective. The PVP was sweet also you could hide in a area behind some trees and when someone walked into the screen if they had their PVP on you could just jump them and take everything that they had. Level 1,000 players were notorious for this. You also get a bandana or a sash something like what Miss America wins that goes across your shoulder and it's a color and it represents certain level achievements. So if you got the hunter green sash what you can only get at level 1000 and then you lost a PVP you might lose it for good.

This was one of my favorite games besides the original Diablo where I loved player killing the player killer cheaters. I must have spent $150 on this game. I don't regret it either. What's really strange is besides when world of Warcraft first came out and I had no idea how to play it and very few other people who want to play it like they play nowadays the way they force you to play... I probably had the most fun in this game.

I don't understand why all the WoW people don't just migrate over to Ascension. It's free, better, has free transmog with all new gear also.

idk it does lose the magic of classic allowing retail features (especially new character models and mogs), but the freedom of classes is interesting... still loses the class identity from classic. Having all those changes you better of playing retail and engage more on the improved combat system from it. im still gonna try it, but im afraid I'd prefer to pick either classic or retail. Both different games and different playstyles and having something in the middle kinda feel weird

Game looks hella fun but early access is a big turn off for me.

Oh I miss ROSE Online. Did play for years on a high rate private server where all maps other than the town are PvP maps. It was great leveling up while having wars that happens out of the blue due to an issue in leveling spots. Oh great days.

what i kinda think is laking is the huge HP the mobs has for early game at least... a solo player must have a buffer or else you die pretty ezly or have not enough damage... and it is bad imo =/ And that doesn't encorage partying but instead create a new character and playp solo with 2 characters, 1 buffer and 1 main char ...

Flyff was my Pre-WOW MMO and a bunch of my friends payed the hell out of it, we we're all Billposters and max leveled our stats when you could get exp by just holding a button down and walking away from the pc for several hours. The game was fun and will always have a place in my heart but i dont think i could ever go back,

My cousin and I spent so much time playing this game growing up. It was barely fun, even then, but we loved it anyway. Truly it is grind incarnate.
