A Food Trip to North Karnataka by Monk.
In this video we are showcasing the Famous eateries at Manchester of Karnataka -Davangere.
We visited many eateries which have a history of so many years.
1. Vasantha Benne dosa Hotel
Vasantha is a 15 year old eatery at Davangere - Comparatively a newer one among others. However, they have created their name amongst others. Here , Special Khali Benne dosa is most famous where you get three dosa similar to set dosa loaded with lot of Benne ( Butter ) and then spread with their Red chutney. Dosa texture is mix of Crispness with little softness.
Served along with Coconut Chutney and Aloo palya. You get only 4-5 varieties of Dosa here. The best is Special Khali Benne Dose.

2. Raghavendra Shavige Hotel
This place is established 50 years ago and is famous among localites for their amazing Shavige Bath. They sell only two dishs - Idly and Shavige Bath. Shavige can be called as Indianized version of Noodles. Half Plate Shavige is 30₹ here with so much quantity.

3. Anantha Bhavana
A 15 year old eatery mostly A college goers Adda. In this place we tried their special Chocolate Coffee which is priced at 25₹.
It turned out to be too good.

4. Shanthappa Benne Dose Hotel
This hotel is one of the oldest at Davangere established in the year 1944. They serve only Khali Dose here with two Variants with and without Butter.
We tried khali palya and Benne which is priced at 28₹. This place is definitely nostalgic and takes you back in time.

5. Ice Land
This place has a history of 39 years and is well known for their In-House Ice creams. We tried their Gudbud and Ice Land Special. Both were too good especially the Ice Land Special became our favorite.

Correction...Davanagere is not a part of north karnataka. Remember it is to the south side of the Tungabhadra river flowing through Harihara city. One advantage of staying in Davanagere is exactly this where its an amalgamation of all the culture, accent and food style.

I've entered Karnataka on 26-5-1982. I stayed at Davangere from 26-5-1982 to 25-7-1986. I'm remembering those days. I'll certainly visit Davangere, stay at Davangere for 2 to days and relish all the tastes.

Icecreams and masala dosas have strong connections. Whenever i used to hog icecreams in the rainy seasons, sometimes i used to get bad cough and chest congestion. Then it used to be time for me to visit the doctor. The code word in South India for getting injections and beatings is called masala dosas. She would 100% gimme one or more painful injections on my bums. After getting i used to visit my aunt's place where she used to see me rubbing my bums and tease me that the doc gave me davangere masala dosa on one bum and special rava masala dosa on the other bum. she used to ask me if i want to eat more icecreams in rains again.

Disliking this vlog. NEVER eat food where where one or more bare hands/arms are involved in the preparation. It is not worth the trouble in these days. The least they can do is to wear some gloves. Even basic pani puri stalls are using simple protection. Also, do not ever go to a place where a person handling the food is also handling cash payments. Most of currency in circulation has drugs/feces/other undesirable "ingredients"
