Jerry Rice was the 🐐 because he worked harder than anyone else… he was never the fastest, the tallest, couldn’t jump the highest, but he put the work in regardless of who the QB was… Steve Young was a HOF because of JR. point blank period… Randy and TO were physically more talented than JR ever was but the difference is the there character/leadership when things didn’t go there way and how they acted in the moment/adversity and that’s what the stats show you… when you quit on your team or try to call out your QB you can’t complain after the fact at the QB’s you had throwing to you….

This is the problem with the modern world, we keep confusing talent and ability with PERFORMANCE. Randy Moss is arguably the most talented WR of all time, but that doesn't make him the GREATEST. Randy COULD have been the greatest if he had applied himself across his career, but he DIDNT. Jerry wasn't as talented as Randy....but Jerry was clearly talented, AND worked hard, AND performed at the highest level - for longer than Randy. Jerry is so far beyond everyone else that we're in a pass happy league that caters to offense, and he has records that STILL haven't been broken. THATS why he's the goat, THE GOAT!

Rice putting up 22 TDs in 12 games is absolutely impressive I agree but the DBs in 1987 was not as good as the DBs in 2007. When Moss broke the touchdown record he was facing better talent then Jerry. Also Jerry wasn't fast he had football speed and he had a great system around him. Randy Moss's first year in New England he put up 23 touchdowns that's not him even getting used to the system within a few years.

Jerry Rice would get locked down in this era and be a non factor. The DBs back then were not nearly as good as they are now, and Jerry ran a 4.8. He had a very long career and accomplished alot, but he isn’t the best wide receiver to ever put on cleats. That’s Randy Moss.
