The video is more like Davao city vs Mandurriao. Been to both cities. My observation, firstly, Iloilo has its old Spanish-era buildings, specially the old churches, while Davao has none. This is because Davao is relatively new city compared with Iloilo. As for the "wide road" frequently boasted here in the comments, I only see one. Nothing special about it. Personally, I don't like these so called stroads. I prefer the charm of the old roads in the old city district. As for its people, Iloilo is more homogenous while Davao is highly diverse with its 11 tribes plus the illongos, ilocanos, kapampangans, cubuanos, boholanos, etc, who migatred to Davao when it was encourage by the government 1900s to counter the rising population of Japanese in Davao. Iloilo celebrates Sto. Niño annually, while Davao celebrates its tribe's culture in time for the harvest season. For population size, land area, business opportunity, hats off to Davao. Basura? if you are going to nitpick, then both has it. But if you are to factor in the size of the city and its population, then you can say that Davao is doing a great job. Davao city is way more progressive than Iloilo if the benchmark is high rise buildings, which some of the commenters here suggest. Iloilo has 20+ while Davao has 40+. Although Davao has a cap on how tall a building can be built in the city. For business district, Davao city has more than one, 5 off the top of my head, while Iloilo has Mandurriao. Greeneries? Davao has the largest park. It is called Mt. Apo. Things to do? Depends on what you are in to. If you like historical building, then Iloilo. But if you like nature with the convenience of a city has to offer, then Davao. Literally 15 minutes to white sandy beaches, about an hour forest parks and wild life sanctuaries, and 2 hours to baguio-like-weather tourist destinations. All within Davao. Informal settlers, well, which city has none? Lastly, quality of life, that is highly subjective. So I say is enjoy your city, celebrate what makes you unique, and be happy with the progress and improvements of all other cities.

All I can say,Iloilo is the original Queen City of the South in early 1900's.A mid size highly urbanized,livable,bike capital,the longest linear park in the country(The River Esplanade).The City of Museums,historical mansions,churches and the City.of Gastronomy 2023 declared by UNESCO.The largest Megaworld township outside Metro Manila with 72 hectares plus additional 18 hectares with a total of 90 hectares.

There is a difference of capturing the aerial view..Davao is much higher altitude like a bird's eye view while in Ilo-Ilo the drone is flying too close to the building of which you can have a clear view.

I'm from Cebu at nakapunta na sa Davao at Iloilo. In my opinion, it's not balance to compare. Malaki kasi yung Davao kaya di makikita lahat. Yung downtown Iloilo, 4x or 5x pa ata ang downtown ng Davao. Maganda both cities. It has its own unique charm and setbacks. Ang gusto ko sa Iloilo is malapit lang sa Boracay at Guimaras. I love the bicycle lanes and parks at di pa masyado traffic. Sa Davao naman, I love the road systems, the diversity, the food and the geographical location. Medyo traffic nga lang but they are working on it. Naka underground na yung dating spag wires. Pag nasa Davao ka, accessible nga lahat halos destination. I'm a traveller, daming group tours na based sa Davao. Kahit saan pwede ako makapunta at a convenient time. Dami ding beaches na magaganda. I love to be back there soon and actually planning to have my 2nd home investment there.

Iloilo seems more developed at the moment and I should say is a model city that Philippine cities should strive to emulate. It’s clean, orderly, have proper sidewalks free of any obstruction, led lamps are in ubiquity, roads are wide and it seems like a healthy city with bike lanes in place and parks very well maintained. Iloilo is definitely a boomtown all Philippines cities can look up to. The only thing missing is mass public transport which I believe is in the pipeline

My honest take on this as I came from davao and now living in Iloilo. Davao is more progressive as it is much much larger than Iloilo but urban plan, Iloilo is above all cities with wide roads and beautiful river esplanade.

Hope our leaders in Cebu might try to emulate Macau and Hongkong both China Special Admininstrative Regions very rich than Singapore and among others asean cities, Can we have a referendum to this, the only way for CEBU to Progress is Cebu to be independent to the Philippines Centralized system of Government. We need our own rules and economic freedom to fast track plans and implementation , the country and the government is very disorganized and inefficient in all aspect in managing the country. Just read everyday news in every flatform of media. Life is getting worse for the poor and very profitble business for many politicians and their cohorts. We have two classes of society the POOR and the RICH. Metro Manila and Luzon has the lion share of Infrastracure budget while the rest of the country is living in STONE AGE. When CCLEX was build now they want to build a bridge in Bataan and Cavite like CCLEX when they know MCIA is very good they also want to build More airport run like PPP not thinking that these airport is useless when big storm and volcano eruption will hit Luzon area, when they hear CEBU BRT they build like carousel to mimic brt so they will not look behind. Imagine our capital region is acting like that. The ship is sinking

iyon nga ang masama at kalat ang mga high rise ng Davao City kumpara sa Iloilo City dahil walang urban planner katulad ng Megaworld. Mas convenient kung magkakalapit ang mga condos, working places, hospitals, hotels at transport hubs katulad sa Iloilo. Siksikan na ang Davao para makagawa ng BGC or Easwood. Kung makagawa man eh wala pareho na lang sila ng Manila, malawak pero congested at matraffic dahil chaotic ang routes ng mga transport dahil sa chaotic na pagtatayo ng mga "important buildings".😢

Pero nevertheless mas maganda kung iyong mga kalsada immune sa traffic para pagpupunta ka ng MW Nlorth, South, East, West eh maginhawa for example lang. Iloilo has 1 MW pero beside it ay may 10 lanes na kalsada so kung maging 2 ang MW malamang nasa malapit din ito sa 10 lanes o baka mas makagawa pa sila ng mas malapad na access road.

I'm 100% davaoeno though my parents are migrants I was born and grew up in Davao. But sorry to say the City is no longer a livable place. Life for me is freedom but if you spend most of your time on the road due to traffic that is not life anymore. For a big city ang kikipot ng mga daan sa Davao. Kesyo malawak daw ang Davao largest City kuno In da Pilipins pero di mo madama kasi and road infrastructure pang provincial town pa rin sorry to say. Kumpara mo sa Danang, Medan, Palembang, Johor or kahit Sihanoukville talagang tanaw at dama ang progreso dahil ang lalawak ng nga highway, 4-5 lanes ang mga avenues nila, at hamak na world Class and road and highway infrastructure nila. Eh ang Davao? Puro yabang lang at squatter colonies. Oo may mga highrise buildings pero napakaPANGIT nga mga roads. Pang third world pa rin! Ang sisikip! 2 lane!! Ni wala pang sidewalk!!

Kakagaling ko lang iloilo, sobrang traffic sa ungka area, lalong lalo nasa tabuk suba, walang stop light. MT car pa naman gamit ko. Yung Davao although traffic may stop light, tuloy2x lang byahe. Di nakakapagod mag drive sa davao lalo na kung sa highway.

Projects dahil na din sa build3x program ni Duterte, kahit anti-party ang iloilo kay duterte hinanapan pa rin ng pondo para sa mga projects ng iloilo. Ikaw na mag analyze sa iba, wag puro tikal.
