yeah, having not seen "Dave" since the last century, I always pictured Ving Rhames in a sweater in the last scene. Kevin Kline, who plays the President and Dave, is one of my favorite actors. He is an award-winning actor on stage and screen. Some of his best movies: - Silverado - A western, he plays a gunslinger with a heart of gold, in a cast including Scott Glenn, Danny Glover, Kevin Costner, Jeff Goldblum, and John Cleese. - The Big Chill - A group of college friends reunite after one of their own takes his own life. Lots of amazing music - The Pirates of Penzance - Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta takes a tough comic turn with a huge cast. Kline reprises his Tony Award-winning role as The Pirate King, with the rest of the original, Broadway cast: Linda Ronstadt, Rex Smith, George Rose, and Tony Azito. The only one who is not the original cast is Angela Lansbury as Ruth. - In & Out - As a beloved high school teacher in a small town outed on the Academy Awards telecast by a former student who just won Best Actor. Tom Sellick, Debbie Reynolds, Joan Cusack, and Matt Dillon. - A Fish Called Wanda - Written and starring Monty Python member John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Python member Michael Palin. Kline won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. - Grand Canyon - An ensemble drama with Kline, Mary McDonnell, Danny Glover, and others. - De-Lovely - A musical fantasia/biography of composer-lyricist Cole Porter with Kline as Porter. Ashley Judd plays his wife. Lots of great songs from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s written by Porter. - French Kiss - A rom-com with Meg Ryan...Kline plays the French leading man. - Soapdish - A huge ensemble comedy with Sally Field, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert Downey, Jr, and Elizabeth Shue. Behind the scenes of a TV soap opera. - Chaplin - A biopic of Charlie Chaplin starring Robert Downey, Jr. as Chaplin. Kline plays silent film star Douglas Fairbanks, one of Chaplin's closest Hollywood friends. There are about 15 other solid films he's made. Silverado, The Big Chill, Grand Canyon, and French Kiss are all films written and/or directed by Laurence Kasdan

Love Dave and the ideal of an actual civil servant who honestly just wants to help people. Ivan Reitman really progressed as a Director but from Stripes, to Ghostbusters to Kindergarten Cop, he always managed to balance comedy with heart. I'm happy to see that his son is carrying on that tradition. Cassie, be proud of the your fellow Canadian.

I just showed this film three nights ago to my 93-yr old mother for the first time of her seeing it. IT's one of my all time favorite movies. She loved it!

It's so nice to see a notification for a new PiB video, see what movie it is and immediately know "Cassie is going to love this one!"

Yayyy! So glad you reacted to this movie. My husband and I saw Dave in theaters on our first date, when we were 16 and 17 years old. I remember thinking how ironic it was we were going to see a movie with the same name of the guy I'd just broken up with, so I could ask my husband out. Lol! Clearly, I made the right decision, as we're still going strong almost 31 years later. Love, love, love this movie and your channel! ❤

Thank you Charles Grodin for balancing/trimming the budget for us. RIP Charles Grodin. "Who does these books, I mean if I ran my business like this I'd be out of business.". Lol great line by Charles.

I'm so glad you reacted to this movie, Cassie. It has always been a favorite of mine, but it's way underrated and not many have reacted to it. I wish Carlie had seen it with you, but you're always wonderful on your own.

This is a classic already! At least in my eyes. Out off all the president movies maybe the sweetest because you have a balance of comedy drama and love story. So well written, directed and acted. I’ve seen it so many times and I never get tired of it. That’s when you know it will always be a hit.

Good choice. This is a real underrated gem, and a great story. Kevin Kline is one of my favorite actors - he was the bad guy Otto in A FISH CALLED WANDA. A couple others he was in you might like are THE BIG CHILL (1983), SILVERADO(1985), I LOVE YOU TO DEATH(1990), and WILD WILD WEST (1999).

I have loved this movie ever since it came out. To this day, whenever there is talk in the news about balancing the budget, my best friend and I turn to each other and say "they just need to call Murray and get some hoagies up in here". Problem solved.

I was a fan @Camden Yards that day! They filmed it prior to the regularly scheduled Orioles game. Anybody else?

28:51 It's the ultimate checkmate. Even if Bob says "I pulled a coup, and replaced the President with an imposter" the First Lady can shut down any rumors like that. Hence the need to go after the *actual* crimes. Bob's mistake was thinking that Dave wanted the power, just like any politician. Dave was willing to give it up at the drop of a hat, and let justice be done on the guilty.

Cassie! One of my most most favorite movies from my childhood!! I always wanted to be a President like Dave Kovic when I was a kid! Great acting in this one too, so many low key major actors/actresses making appearances in this one too. Laura Linney and Bonnie Hunt are two of my favs! Great Choice!! Love your channel keep it up!

If you remember Richard Dreyfuss in Jaws, he played a similar role in a delightful comedy named "Moon Over Parador." It's outside the US, Dreyfuss is an actor who gets kinda forced into the role. Worth a watch.

@@tvdroid22 Dave was a better movie. Dave wants to use the ruse to make things better. Dreyfuss on the other hand just wanted to go home.

I love this film and the whole cast. "Bob Alexander" Frank Langella was a real hunk early in his career. His performance in the lead role in "Dracula" on Broadway had the ladies swooning. Another great Kevin Kline movie you'll like is "In & Out" (1997). Other fun POTUS films I know you'll like are "The American President" (1995) and "My Fellow Americans" (1996).

Interesting that a whole bunch of movies came out in the 1990s that were either presidentially themed or had the U.S. President as one of its main characters: Dave, The American President, Air Force One, Independence Day, Nixon, JFK, My Fellow Americans, Primary Colors, Wag the Dog, Absolute Power. Even Mars Attacks.

Here are 2 suggestions for future movies: 1. A Walk in the Clouds 2. The Sea of Trees "Dave" is a classic that I saw when it first came out. Truly a "Feel Good" movie.

Yes This was a good movie. Might I recommend a few others around the same release time? Sneakers with Robert Redford and Ben Kingsley (The actor who played the VP in Dave), Searching for Bobby Fischer, Defending Your Life.
