Grew up in Copenhagen, watching Dave. I spoke some English, and read the subtitles. I was just sad that he died whilst still having many more years left, of a life span of early 80’s. We are here for such a short time.

4:25 This happened to my Grandmother, Great Aunt & young cousin. They were at the hospital because another cousin had just had a baby. When the elevator stopped they started call for help. Well a guy standing at the open door behind them played right along. He said what's wrong? They said we're stuck in the elevator. He said oh no that's terrible. Well after going back and forth for several minutes. The guy said turn around. They were so embarrassed. But we all get a good laugh from it now.

Lifts: I was in Italy last week and the alternative lift door in the hotel opened on different floors. I was waiting for the lift on the ground floor. When it arrived the door opened, with a British couple in there facing the wrong way, blocking my entrance. They just stood there. "Hello", I said. No reaction. "Hello"- this time they looked at each other. "Hello, excuse me", in a louder voice. They looked up and sideways across the lift. "Can I come in please? the door's behind you". Finally they turned round. Wrong phone numbers: I answered the phone. "Is that Mr Wall?" a kid asked. "No", I replied". "Are there no Walls in the house?" "No". "Are you sure". "Yes". "Then you'd better get out quick or the house will fall down".

Dave was not a comedian. I never heard him tell a joke and he didn't have a gimmick. He would just sit in his chair or stand there and talk and make you laugh.
