Dave Chappelle left in his prime so for sure we didn't get to see all we could have seen from him but what he accomplished in that amount of time is beyond all of the greats. The guy was being offered a 50 million dollar contract after only 2 seasons of his show being on air when he decided to leave. Lets not count him out as far as the future goes though. To say he will be completely forgotten is completely ignorant to the fact that his name is still relevant in comedy today. He has yet to release a special since he left his show; however, he was just named Man of the Year by GQ and is starting to blow up again in his stand up career. It is no where near what level he was at before but that doesn't make what he is doing now any less impressive, it just makes what he did before more impressive. He is definitely arguably a top 3 comedian all time.

The very first time I ever heard Dave doing Stand-up in the early 90's, he did a similar joke. From that one 15 minute or so routine, I knew he was going to be one of my favorites.
