He got his nickname from violence in prison and the 'torture' cases in the late 60s. His size made people think he must be 'mad'. Frankie's main beef with Courtney was that he just wasn't there. Courtney was a 9 yrs old kid when the Twins were put in. He was making a living talking about the faces and scene he didn't put the work in to.

Dave Courtney is known on the Old Kent Road as ''The Dustman!'' He is a laughing stock and the butt-of-jokes. His plastic-gangster status was created for celebrity aspirations in which he has become a self-parody. Frankie Fraser had a fearsome reputation, not least for fighting 'screws' in Parkhurst and Wandsworth and getting a severe beating. Courtney has done nothing except grass and it's the reason he is shunned as a 'wrong-un' in S E London.

To be fair to Frank, he wasn't even an active gangster as an old man. Just a public speaker on crime who ran a tour bus. Now if it were 40-50 years ago, however, I would bet Courtney wouldn't be speaking about him like that. And so what if Frank was short? The Krays were only about 5'7"themselves. You don't have to be big to be dangerous.
@kiril19 жыл бұрын
+joaquinbond007 I really think this Courtney has a big mouth(strikes again??), and wouldn't say it straight in the eyes of Frankie, especially not in his younger years, 40 - 50 years ago. In the opposite, Frankie looked like a very serious guy, so what if being small?..

AMD Clips Omnibus; Mad Frank and Frank and friends. I must say that english isn't my native language, as you can notice. The language of Frankie is pretty hard, much slang and archaic words,not typical for todays' english. But from what I've read, seems like he was a tough guy. And, what about 42 years of bird? What type of person do you think you must be, to serve almost half a life inside, being released and still being able to function. The lad certainly was a piece of hard material, not an angel.

Courtney is an absolute plum. He's a gangster for the camera. There's guys that hide in bushes an pull triggers, sell and import drugs and do absolutely anythin they can to make sure nobody finds out. Meanwhile dave Courtney is blabbing to the whole world about his achievements so its painfully obvious what his goal is, and its painfully obvious that he will go over the top with his stories to achieve that goal.
@butlincat15073 жыл бұрын
Dave can cook 1 minute rice in 58 seconds. And he has a PhD in Scrabble! When papers are served on him he builds a duck or chicken within 3 minutes, to the awe and acclaim of the court staff delivering! Needs a knighthood for this act alone!!

@michelle889608 жыл бұрын
Apologies to you Mr Courtney, as I had not heard about you before this. But I'm pleased that somebody has the balls to say all this. I have watched interviews with 'Mad Frankie' and his boasts about killing people in detail. He also said he once killed a dog, which did it for me, I hate cruelty to animals. But one thing I have learnt throughout my life, and living in some real dodgy areas, is the ones that brag about their antics, stabbings, fighting etc. Are usually the ones that run at the sniff of trouble. It's the ones that say nothing and laugh off any questions about their violence that you gotta watch out for.
