Saw Dave at the awapuni back in the 70/80’s the dudes back then. He pulled up at our table with a six pack of leopard paw. Shit beer! Legend will remember forever. Makes me homesick after 40 years

Love this translation. Hine Ruhi. Nice. Since the tupuna didn't slice the heavens the translation reflects the closest concept. In other words a woman from the heavens. Nice.

Wonderful work Dave. Your's is possibly the most recogniseable voice of Aotearoa NZ identity in the music world today, both in your stories and your sound. This translation musically would have been no easy task, so many thanks to you and the team for your amazing effort here. Heart(land) warming as always. Cheers.

Love this. Don't understand a single word and don't care at all asI love the sounds of the Te Reo Maroir language. Sometimes not knowing words makes you focus on the beauty of another language you are not familiar. This is wonderful. Why is NZ so more davnaced than Australia in the recognition of its indigenous people. For some reason Australian's just can't accept truths.

Appreciate the gesture Dave, but it's not a patch on the original with the Herbs. The ensemble is what makes Slice of Heaven perfect. Great scenery though. This video paired with the original song is a pretty good combo.

It's a new version so why would any artists use the same music or the same key? Wouldn't make any sense to me. Before I even heard it for the first time I waa curious how it would sound musically.
