"I'm not going to defend the Acolyte or anything" - Thor Skywalker, 2025. Colorized
@jimdaniels753114 күн бұрын
I'm not bothered by the Mangold comments. I get it, the Skywalker era is a straitjacket of canon. Early Jedi era just gives him more flexibility to tell the story he wants to, and that's a good thing. Plus, Andor writer Beau Willimon is doing the script, so that's a good sign.
@AAhmou14 күн бұрын
I'm okay with the Dawn of the Jedi era comtent since nothing is set in stone there for canon. As long as he doesn't do something that'll get him flak like trying to explain too much of the Force.

Hey Thor, I've been thinking about this for a while. That we REALLY need to pay attention to the Mandalorian and Grogu movie because if that doesn't do well... where does Star Wars go from here? If its two most popular characters cannot succeed, what chance does Rey Palpatine have, or *Dawn of the Jedi*, or Lando, or any of the rumored projects have?

You’d be surprised what cleaning house can do. It’s like removing a tumor. ATP it is clear KK is above Iger for unknown reasons so the franchise has to collapse so that we have a chance at everybody there getting fired and getting new leadership. Maybe someone like Sam Witwer who understands SW closest to George’s vision more than anyone I have heard. Headland specifically said Filoni was a mentor to her during Acolyte. Chow consulted him for Kenobi. This means he has overseen 4 lightsaber stabs where the victim survives. This man can only think with cartoon logic. That’s all you need to know about where he stands and his actual understanding of SW. Let him make more animated shows on D+ in a corner.

I had to write my own version of Mando S3 which ends with Din as the new Mandalore and Bo-Karen as a corpse and food for cave lizards. Ahsoka was mediocre at best Dave Filoni proved that he's better at writing animated shows than live action shows, so much of that show wasted the viewer's time and intelligence. Couldn't care less for the mandalorian at all. Book of boba and Mando season 3 successfully killed any potential interest I had and I won't be watching either films when they come out. No I'll keep an eye out but until this happens I'll never count myself as a star wars fan.

@MossSteiger153014 күн бұрын
@@achaudhari101 "Overhated?" I'm curious to know what your standard is for appropriate hating...😉 Seriously, though - yes, I thought Gina's dismissal was unjust and disgraceful, but I can say very confidently that my dislike for Mando 3, Book of BF, and Kenobi has nothing to do with that. Zero. Nada. Rather, these shows are excellent examples of Disney's so-called "Star Wars" failing to be true to the movies that captured my heart and imagination in the first place. All three shows are littered with poor creative decisions, which in my opinion, bear no resemblance to established Star Wars. And it doesn't appear that they were even meant to. I can think of no bigger piece of the puzzle that it was important for Disney to get right, and I shake my head that you choose to discount it entirely. When I first heard of Disney spending $4B to acquire Star Wars, I thought it was a no-brainer that they'd make every effort to understand what made it successful in the first place. Find the best people to put on it, and to do everything they could to *not* screw it up. Well, evidently, a lot of people are disappointed. And I understand their disappointment. I'm not so sure that you do.

TBH I don't want it with Filoni at the helm. Tony Gilroy and Jon Watts showed, in two different approaches, how you can make pre-sequel trilogy content great. The 'Somehow Palpatine Returned' of it all hangs like a dark cloud over it all and at least Gilroy, Watts & co. brought a little sunshine to it. Stop trying to wedge a story into the failures of the sequel trilogy. Maybe it's just time to take the IP, and begin again 10-20 years in timeline post sequel trilogy. If you want Ridley/Rey in it, fine. If you want Boyega in it, great. But put some adults with a vision in charge of it. At the end of the day, it's about light side vs. dark side. Take the building blocks of what made the original three great, and begin again. And don't wedge in representation in a preachy way - Skeleton Crew showed a diverse cast (with disability representation) and they didn't make a big deal about making a point with it. If you told me Tony Gilroy was doing the next three movies to start again, I'd be in lineup right now for it. Anyone who's a great writer - find them, and put them in charge.

I remember when STAR WARS was a sure thing in the 1980s and Star Trek was anything but a sure thing, and we were hoping that the movies did well so that Star Trek would continue because it definitely had potential, and Star Trek fans wanted it to continue. Now, Disney Star Wars is in the same spot that Star Trek was in in the 1980s - it may not continue if it doesn't do well at the Box Office. But the problem with Disney Star Wars now as opposed to Star Trek back then is - does it have potential? Disney not only has to make a successful movie but they have to give us a reason that there is more potential down the road, and there is reason to be excited about future Disney Star Wars. They have to win the fan base back over.

If the comments section of any Star Wars related video has taught me anything its that if there’s 1 thing that Star Wars fans can agree on…… its that Star Wars fans can’t agree on anything. Having said that, perhaps it’s a testimonial to the variety of content, media, games, merchandise and stories available to fans in the Star Wars universe. There is something for everyone but not everything is for everyone. We are very fortunate that we have this amazing diversion from the reality of our daily lives and should probably appreciate that a little more instead of bashing the content we don’t like. There are things in Star Wars that aren’t my thing……comic books for instance. I don’t hate them but I’m not into them. I choose not to read them because they don’t appeal to me but I’m glad they are available to those that want them. There’s a show I didn’t like either and I will not watch it again, but I know it has its fans and I’m glad they have it to enjoy. I’d rather spend my time enjoying the things I like then hating the things I don’t. I think it’s better for my mental health, to be happy rather than angry.

Hey Thor & Naboo, three things that I thought about after the finale: one was that Jod warned them they didn’t know what they were doing removing the barrier, which implies that Jod knows something ominous may be coming for the treasure planet far more threatening than just pirates, which would be imperial remnants, which leads into the second thing, which I believe beggars the question: why did the communication halt after Order 66? That would have to have been the Emperor‘s doing for a nefarious reason. The third is something cute I thought about, that was Wim & Fern’s parents starting to notice each other as obviously Wim’s dad is a widow and we can assume Fern‘s dad is not in the picture because he wasn’t present for the entire series, which would make an amazing family of Wim & Fern becoming siblings in the future.

@ I've been anti-Filoni for more than 3 years. His interjection of himself into the lore, his habit of bringing filler episodes to live action and him playing with Force cannon to serve the characters that he created. He weaseled himself up under GL, then he cozied himself up under KK. I've been here since '77 as an 8 year old, my disgust for Filoni isn't a recent thing, I challenged Thor years ago about his blind faith in that fraud. So miss me with your condescending uninformed take Peaches.

@ Filoni has been a willing participant in KK destroying SW and reducing the greatest IP in entertainment history mediocracy and failure. SW fans have been going at each other for their allegiances to the OT, the Prequels or the Sequels. And the powers at LucasFilm has exploited our in fighting to continue produce slop for us to fight over. Filoni included.

Except your hatred towards him makes no sense since he’s one of the few people keeping the franchise from being completely dead. Not to mention he has more hits than misses.
