Honestly, I was more interested in the on the road Jodeci/Boyz II Men/Forever My Lady studio session stories Mr. Hollister had to share because behind the scene tidbits in the entertainment industry always fascinates me. As for the whole today's R&B discussion, I mean I agree with everything he's saying but I'm just exhausted to death by this conversation LOL. He's talking the truth, but I've just come to the conclusion I'm going to support what's good to MY ear, not what mainstream forces me to like, whether it's popular or not. That's all that matters to me. Promotion for Black talent in general has been piss poor for so long, but there is nothing new for me to say about it that I haven't already ranted about on twitter. HA! :P

iow bring back the real R&B!/ KJH/ Kelly ,Jones, Hollister! or Kelly, Lyfe, Jaheim! I really believe this would bring R&B music back to th mainstream and cause all of these imposters to retreat and go back to their ole' drawing boards! I remember back in tje good ole' days you would hear people singing their favorite songs that was a hit and now you don't hear nobody singing or at least trying to sing anymore: And Rappin' is not singing! I barely know what's out there these days and who to go spend my money on! Bring back true Beautiful Black Baby Making Music! I'm tired of spending my music on half assed talent! Each slow jam ,should stretch at least 4:30 and over!

mrmob84 he might have had good songs, but they were not hits, robert kelly had hits. if he indeed had hits, when somebody said his name, the avg r&b listener of the 90s would rattle off the songs. but when the r&b listener of the 90s hear his name, we say "thats the dude that got kicked out of blackstreet. their first cassette was hot" my husband had jamie foxxs first cd. he loooooved that whole cd. they may have been good songs, but they were not hits
@ertfgghhhh10 жыл бұрын

We can't forget about R&B of the 2000s tho. Of course we would go with R&B mostly from 2000 to 2005 Period (before T-Pain Auto-Tune etc.) 2007 was also a good year for R&B before it become entirely explicit with the lyrics cuz now we also hear em singing bout doing drugs (weed, popping pills x's molly and all that stupid shit,) even goddamn lean that rappers talk all the damn time)

Willis Reed Well that's the sound of the 90's in general had a different sound. But with the records I'm speaking of they have the same sound. Lost With Out You fits into the music Charlie Wilson, R Kelly, Johnny Gill and all the other older R&B groups are making today.
