Dave is a great guitar player. He does well with Roger and Steve Wilson. Makes it look easy

Me too.. a little later with Carl Palmer and John Young? In QANGO. Would've been around 2000 I suppose! Met him after the gig. What humble guy.

@@golfp7231 I saw this show in San Jose (This video) and then a few nights later in Oakland. For the 2nd show I got there early and went in at door opening. I sat down in my seat (5th row) and looked at the stage. To my surprise Dave was sitting on the stage adjusting one of his guitars. I walked up to the front row barrier and said loudly "Excuse me!" I repeated "Excuse me!" , and he looked up rather startled. "I saw you Wednesday night and you were really good." I said. He put a hand over his heart and said thank you. He was very nice.

The guy Roger Waters selected to play lead in his arena tour is underrated?
@Redpepper9174 жыл бұрын
@@morganghetti his name is Dave Kilminster and you're correct, he's a beast. He's the first person I saw that covered Steve Vai's "For the Love of God" accurately, and he made it look so simple.

Sliding into a dodgy note at 1:47. Other than that a great repro of a wonderful Gilmore composition. Don't know what's in the glass however. Spent a weekend at a guitar school he ran in 2007 (ish) and never saw him drink. So it's either orange juice or life on the roads finally hit him.

Bum note at 1.47. Otherwise did a good job of playing Dave Gilmour's solo phrase for phrase. Not a big challenge for Dave Kilminster, who is a top guitarist.

Not sure about that friend. David Kilminster is actually a far more accomplished player than Gilmour is across the board. Yes DG wrote this and kudos to him but DK is an amazingly adept in ANY style.

The reserved nature of Gilmour come through in his playing. Other guitarists who try to do Gilmour struggle with that.

Great show but the music has become tiresome dull and monotonous, the danger has gone with age and like Roger it has become older and less relevant and putting in some pics of Trump aint gonna change things.
@duncanrobertson29586 жыл бұрын
I'm sure Mr Kilminster thinks he's being cool; glass down, knock out obligatory solo, pick up glass. But in reality, he's just playing someone else's work; and not as well, or with any of the feeling, as any performance I've see David Gilmour produce. Nice try, maybe experiment with a bit more humility next time.

Go see him live with Roger and you'll eat your words, the emotion he puts in every single note of the gig is simply amazing. I've been to a lot of concerts but i've never seen such a passionate guitar player
@Ligtez6 жыл бұрын
He is a very humble person and a fantastic guitar player. Very hardworking and professional. Look at interviews with him and you will understand that and his sense of humor. He is not making fun or disrespect any colleague, nor is he imitating Gilmour, just enjoying himself in another day's work. Look at his work with Steven Wilson for example, too...

actually, the solo in this concert is full of feelings. maybe it's not his work but damn it he played it beautifully. Pink Floyd original members or not, that kind of talk is old-fashioned. do we enjoy music? this guitarist is awesome!

You've clearly never heard a MIDI synced device that is queued to play a 12 chair orchestra at the push of a button....actually you have, you just didn't realize it. lol...not to mention Roger has been busted lip syncing a number of times....
@justinbebsmus1216 жыл бұрын
Really hard to compare this to a karaoke track... Let's just say you're right, and that their is a midi orchestra, it's still a hell of a lot different to have that many incredible live musicians performing with it. His shows demand sticking to a click track and yes, he has used vocal tracks on countless tours, but the guy puts together an incredible band each time. To compare them to a simple karaoke track is purely ridiculous.
