Dave Mason, you cannot ever stop recording, there's just so much talent in you!!! All of you, just keep on rockin'! And also, please, if you haven't heard and accepted it already, let Mark tell you how to live FOREVER!!! Blessings!!!

yes, grand funk version, on "survival" (1971); which is why dave mason invited mark farner to join in in the first place! if you`ve never heard grand funk do the song, you sure missed something - but that can easily corrected: simply type in "grand funk feelin alright" right here on youtube. like I said, grand funk`s version rules - and yes, I also own the traffic, dave mason and joe cocker versions…but grand funk was my introduction (in 71), so I guess that stuck!

Try a touch of kindness, man. With regards to Mason, he's been through more ups and downs than you know. At 67 he's put on weight. Big deal! He's a kind, generous and talented man and has given the world a hell of a lot of great music. Peace!

Around 2000, I had my TV on and I saw this guy playing a Dave Mason song. And he sounded exactly like Dave, but the guy singing was this bald, more than chubby man. It took me 10 minutes to realize that it was Dave Mason. I laughed my ass off and enjoyed the hell out of the rest of the concert. I've been a fan of his since the 70s and he's still a great musician and his voice is still as great as it was back in the day.

@@rudytormento9753The fact that they were only ever known for their remakes by the public at large is really sad. Covers only account for less than 5 percent of their total musical output. The fact is, they probably did more original music than anyone in the industry. In fact, their first album was ALL original material written by one man, Mark Farner. How many bands can say that their first album was ALL originals?

If ANYONE in music could be best described as a "black man in a white man's body". its Mark Farner! This song was MEANT for him to sing, if Dave Mason only knew who back in '67 to best to give this song to after he wrote it. Unfortunately, that had to wait another 4 years
