Lyrics:
Come out come out
No use in hiding
Come now come now
Can you not see?
There's no place here
What were you expecting
Not room for both
Just room for me
So you will lay your arms down
Yes I will call this home
Away away
You have been banished
Your land is gone
And given me
And here I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
What's this you say?
You feel a right to remain?
Then stay and I will bury you
What's that you say
Your father's spirit still lives in this place
I will silence you
Here's the hitch
Your horse is leaving
Don't miss your boat
It's leaving now
And as you go I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
I have no time to justify to you
Fool, you're blind, move aside for me
All I can say to you my new neighbor
Is you must move on or I will bury you
Now as I rest my feet by this fire
Those hands once warmed here
I have retired them
I can breathe my own air
I can sleep more soundly
Upon these poor souls
I'll build heaven and call it home
Cause you're all dead now
I live with my justice
I live with my greedy need
I live with no mercy
I live with my frenzied feeding
I live with my hatred
I live with my jealousy
I live with the notion
That I don't need anyone but me
Don't drink the water
Don't drink the water
There's blood in the water
Don't drink the water

People that went to his concerts in the 90s and early 2000s were a much better crowd than who go to see em now. During the 90s Everyone was grooving, dancing and sending joints around. Now everyone sits on their hands (except for people in the first 10 rows) and gets their phone out, even though every show is online. To everyone - You don't have to like my opinion, but it's absolutely true🤷‍♂️

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water..... The blood? Without the atoning work of the blood of Jesust Christ than the Gospel message of God's word is of no effect.... Satan's greatest fear? For one to "drink in" the gospel of Christ,, for the blood of Christ saves man from sin. It can not be any more clear.

Always find myself coming back to this performance. The sound is insane, I miss the sound of leroi, boyd and butch. Something about Dave’s performance is just so powerful too - opening such a huge concert the energy is electric, the way he moves back and forth from the mic hitting his foot. SO much energy and then the build up to ‘I will BURYY YOU’ and ‘MOVE ASIDE FOR ME!’ The look on his face. Ahhhh. And to top it all off…. The outro verse, gives me chills everytime they go into it. I’m yet to hear them do it in any other live version. Just fkn unreal. Un. Real.

Come out come out No use in hiding Come now come now Can you not see? There's no place here What were you expecting Not room for both Just room for me So you will lay your arms down Yes I will call this home Away away You have been banished Your land is gone And given to me And here I will spread my wings Yes I will call this home What's this you say? You feel a right to remain? Then stay and I will bury you What's that you say Your father's spirit still lives in this place I will silence you Here's the hitch Your horse is leaving Don't miss your boat It's leaving now And as you go I will spread my wings Yes I will call this home I have no time to justify to you Fool, you're blind, move aside for me All I can say to you my new neighbor Is you must move on or I will bury you Now as I rest my feet by this fire Those hands once warmed here I have retired them I can breathe my own air I can sleep more soundly Upon these poor souls I'll build heaven and call it home 'Cause you're all dead now I live with my justice I live with my greedy need I live with no mercy I live with my frenzied feeding I live with my hatred I live with my jealousy I live with the notion That I don't need anyone but me Don't drink the water Don't drink the water There's blood in the water Don't drink the water

@@youknow2469MitakuyeOyasin This song is about displacing a native population, at least as far as I interpret the lyrics. Manhattan was taken from the local native population for a trifle amount of beads.

When I originally heard this song it struck me as a song about the trail of tears. I guess this is my interpretation, I have native blood in me, and for some reason when I hear this specific video, at the end when he is screaming, I feel the terror and anguish that my ancestors must have felt.

We need Boyd back! He was such a detrimental piece and look to the band. That huge smile when he starts really rocking was just priceless. Still love them today and see them at every NY show I can, but damn I miss seein Boyd up there. Leroi too, but, we can't get him back.

I used to listen to this song, after my brother bought me the DMB live at Central Park, on repeat. That part "I'll build heaven and call it home" breaks me to this day, and i haven't heard this song in 2 years. I'm actually in tears typing this

After obsessively playing this song the last couple of days, i realized when i was 15, I'd completely overlooked the lyrics. This song is about colonization, isn't it? First verse speaking of hunting down the indigenous people. There's only room for me, no room both. Second verse, is kicking them out. Away away you have been banished. Your land is gone and given to me. Pre-chorus, what's this you say, you feel the right to remain, then stay. I will bury you. What's that you say, your father's spirit still lives in this place. My God, I'm so happy that i rediscovered this song at 27 and really listened to the words. It's so much more powerful than I'd even thought before.

Unreal that they do this song, this good, on this island, in this time, & the irony of the lyric "Your father's spirit still lives in this place" like literally right where he is standing on Manhatten Island, the multi-layered meaning is boggling me lol
