The idea of Dave getting paid or rewarded for praising AEW is no different than Stephen A Smith getting paid to hate the Cowboys regardless if he actually does or not. I also don’t doubt Dave being delusional because he was delusional before AEW’s existence. At the end of the day, all of this is just an endless cycle. It will continue to be one as long as Tony has an ego.

I think Dave's actually working for AEW and helping book. Tony looks up to Dave. Tony was a junior reporter for the Observer back in the day. I'm sure Dave talks to Tony constantly helping him book everything. That's why Dave shills for everything and why he can explain the thought process behind every decision.

People can talk all they want about "conservative figures", but at the end of the day, it's all about perception. And the reality is that the perception of AEW is that despite the TV deal, the perception of their business is weaker than it's ever been. If there's one thing TK as an IWC mark should have learned from TNA, it's that trying to start at the top of the mountain always inevitably leads to a fall. TNA before Hogan wasnt trying to kick dirt into WWE's face. So when they got little wins like primetime TV, big contracts, brand deals, and even a video game, people were cheering them on. It's only after Hogan came in and tried to start another Monday Night War that all that good will vanished. Even despite that, TNA got TV deals with Spike (until they didnt), but no one would ever say that TNA post-Hogan was "successful". And I dont remember even the TNA diehards by that point being nearly as gaslit as AEW fans are now.

Does Dave understand inflation. My gas for my car was a little over a $1 a gallon when WCW was on. Now I'm paying $3.50 or more. Apples to Oranges. WCW was part of a larger company. That means it has to include allocations of expenses from Turner Broadcasting. Thats why it couldnt be compared to WWE financially at the time . Its a complete different accounting that changes the net profit or expense in a large way.

What exactly the basis for thinking Dave is wrong here? Because you think they're not making money? I don't watch AEW but everyone just assumes they know they're burning money and not making any but what is the basis for this? They just got a 550 million dollar deal, that's a last gasp? What? You know Dave spent 15-20 years before AEW existed talking up WWE and it's growing business despite their ratings dropping and attendance dropping and yet they kept getting better and better TV deals. So that's not strange in the slightest. The whole time that was happening Dave talked about how good they were doing, when they were doing good. No one ever complained about his personal connections then, but now that it's AEW he's not a real journalist and his kids are being taken care of by TK because he hasn't had a "real" job. Like he hasn't made any money in his career or something. Amazing how when you don't like somebody you somehow know their exact financial situation.
