Grinding 170 meters down the rails near the trails on the level woodward camp in Dave Mirra BMX 2 for GameCube. Probably the hardest challenge for the level/maybe even the whole game. Also known as Grind 525 feet down the rails near the trails on the US version.

The fact you barely break 170 shows how insane this challenge is and on the first level

The trick to it without manuals is before you get to the end of each rail, make sure your body is leaning in the direction of the next rail and your peg isn't at too steep a pitch on the rail, then release your jump button before the end of the rail. It's just a timing thing.

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results" This looks simple enough, but my manuals aren't landing at the right time, I can't jump from them into a grind at the right time, or I overshoot the rails, and so on. Just can't for the life of me get this one down! I always feel like I have the timing right, but I'm still way off, haven't gotten past 158m

You make it look so easy. I was only able to do it once. Now since I barely got a ps2 that can read blue backs I am this spot in the game and wish not to continue till I beat this little part.

Yeah, it's pretty hard, if you don't get the whole amount on the rails near the trails, I'm pretty sure you can use the black/yellow rail near the go-kart track to get the last bit.

@@lmcgregoruk exactly what I did many years ago. Damn near almost throwing my control these days. 😂 at least now I know their hard to come by and I buy em so I know not to throw it.

I only use the glowing rails, you dont need to manual. You find the uploads on my channel.

i want to believe they typo'd. funny enough the american release is easier as it's 525 feet which comes out to 160 meters. they must not have known how to convert it or they really hated non-americans. even if they typo'd "25 feet" as "525" or "17 meters" as "170" it doesnt make much sense because then it wouldnt be hard at all and you could do it on one rail easily. gonna have to track down some devs from that game and ask them.
