Other medical professionals have also used masks regularly even though they don't operate. The point of wearing the mask is to minimize/prevent viruses (respiratory) from being passed by patient to doc and from doc to clinical staff and/or other patients the doc was seeing that day. I'm not sure when this was put in place but I'm pretty sure that this was reinforced during SARS, at the hospital level. That's why SARS didn't become as widespread in the community as COVID did. They caught it much earlier and reinforced the Infectious Disease policies much sooner.

I heard you on the 2a...I think you don't know your Constitution. That said, Here is my Proposal for Gun Control Reform; Complete Removal of All Guns: Implement a policy where all firearms are removed from public and private ownership. No Exceptions: Ensure that this policy applies universally, including to the President, Secret Service, Capitol Police, wealthy individuals, and celebrities. No special privileges. Universal Application of Laws: Any laws, executive orders, or special rules that allow firearms for specific individuals must automatically apply to everyone else. Accountability Fund: Establish a fund where all anti-gun advocates and politicians who vote to revoke the right to self-defense contribute at least 10% of their income and assets in perpetuity. This fund will compensate for the physical, mental, and financial losses suffered by individuals unable to defend themselves. For instance, if a parent is injured or killed, the fund will cover the resultant loss of income and wealth. If the focus is truly on safety, then policymakers should support this initiative, demonstrating their commitment to protecting the public-“for the children,” as they often advocate.
