The most upsetting thing about all this is that Dave Rubin - even through all his wrong predictions, stupid takes and petty lies - remains a wealthy and relatively famous, connected person with more influence than many actual experts. He is the ultimate grifter, a used car salesman talking his way through every changing situation, always maintaining that perma-smile, the fake-nice affection and the aura of expertise as perfectly demonstrated around 11:11. It’s a great reminder that we do not live in a meritocracy but rather in a griftocracy: the more shameless you are, the more likely it is you’ll profit and climb.
