The song is about a girl Noel met when he flew to San Francisco on his own quitting tne band after the famous shambolic ‘whiskey a go go’ gig in LA in the tour of Definitely Maybe in 94 He fully intended to quit the band , net this girl and spent a couple of days with her who talked him into returning to the band

My favourite Noel acoustic song, the lyrics are so beautifully put together and the song shows a more personally vulnerable side to NG. Nice reaction :)

Can you react to Liam and Noel's song with Paul Weller. They did a cover of The Jam's "Carnation". Liam's voice makes it so much better than the original in my opinion.

While we’re on the subject of Pete Townsend, did you know he tried to poach Reni from the early Stone Roses? Said he was the most natural drummer he’d heard since Keith Moon… High praise indeed!

Speaking of Noel solo albums, you should show Dave some of Noel's songs from his first record Like "Dream On", "The Death of You and Me" and "Everybody's on the Run".

If you want to react to an Oasis ballad - try "Idler's Dream". It's an obscure b-side that is piano driven. It's beautiful and one of my favorite B-Sides from Oasis,
@jonathansteadman793511 ай бұрын
Seeing as I left school in '79, the Jam were our Beatles, I think people forget how huge they were , multiple number 1s, Double As played back to back for the first time. Weller was cooler than any one in Oasis. He was seen as godlike., and the power and energy of Jam gigs were electric verging on violence. as we're the times.! Oasis were the same for the next generation.but the bigging yourself up were anathema to bands like the Jam. It was music from the punk starts to the 60s sensibility. It's also an age thing, the Jam had imploded ten years before Oasis, and the football terrace mentality was not something Jam fans would've related too. But Noel knows whose boss, the Mod father. Thank fuck I got to be the right age for the Jam gigs. Events played with fire and passion.!!!

Could you react to it's getting better (man) live at knebworth 96? P.S.I would agree with Dave, Talk Tonight isn't a ballad. Something like "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" and "Let There Be Love" are ballads.

Great Reaction as always! Dave, it would be awsome if you could react to The Lemon Twigs - My Golden Years. Such a great band from America that sounds like a mix of late 60's. Beatles, Beach Boys, The Byrds and The Kinks. May be the best band America has to offer these days. This is the new single

Hey Dave, Weller is a fantastic musician and songwriter. His songs whilst in the Jam were likened to Ray Davies and his guitar style was reminiscent of Pete Townsend with just a hint of Wilko Johnson. His solo work from the 90’s and early 2000’s is brilliant. Check out Heavy Soul live from the Southbank 1997, you’ll love his drummer who is Alan Whites (Oasis) brother. Exceptional 👌🏼
