I have been a martial artist for 34 years. Shotokan, traditional wing chun, tsu family white crane, judo, jujitsu and more. I stopped doing hein sandan years ago. The bunki I was given was rediclous. Having seen this video I'm 100% adding it back into my training. I wish I could have spent those 34 years training under Cimberline. It is because of him that I finally see that karate-do is the best and most versatile martial art ever. Thanks for giving the correct bunki and continuing the truth of karate-do.

very good explanation of kata, a lot of "black belts" world wide don't know this stuff, I had to learn all this before my first black belt. A great teacher is much better than a great martial art.

I like these. Another application for the end, is as follows; I they try to punch which leads me into a shoulder throw. If the first attempt fails, I go the other direction to hyper-extend the elbow. Our katas not only provide a means of self-defense but also a back-up for our own mistakes or the attackers' counters.

I never saw the end of Pinan Sandan done that way before, I learned something new!

I think I came up with the idea of using the forearm smashes against the neck, although it shows up in other kata Bassai dai. I would love to take credit for the throw, and although this exact interpretation might be mine, the basic idea actually came from Funakoshi in 1922, so totally not original. ;-)

realy good videos ,i train shotokan and realy enjoy it ,,the problem with it is your partner is static as in class in a real fight they would be moving jumping up n down throwing wild punches kicks from every direction so alot of karate and other martial art moves wouldnt work ,,but still a great martial art to learn and enjoy
