I noticed what looked like somebody had 'keyed' the driver's and passenger's door! Panic panic set in! However being familiar with G3 products I used this G3 Scratch Removal. I was astonished at the result. I did do the scratch removal more than once then left it overnight, as said the result was quite astonishing. It is important not just to read the instructions on the tube but to also watch this KZbin video which in my case gave me confidence to start the application. An excellent product! This morning I have looked at the scratch and did a final lambswool buff over the surrounding area to removal a few smears from my work. If I stand and really look closely, yes I can see the area treated but only very slightly. My neighbour couldn’t find it until looking sideways and tilting his head to different angles to catch different light on the doors. He now intends to use this product on his motor cycle so he must have been impressed at my work!

Product I have and use and really rate . Ive tackled FAR worse scratches with this and removed 95% of them . Had a trailer come around and catch my bumper and yes it made a real mess but 30 mins of working with this and its removed the marks . I would recommend but look forward to seeing how it matches up against others

That's a really good result for any hand applied cutting compound. I've used their clay mitt and clay lube/detailing spray, both did a great job 👍

Great start Dave. I've always had a bit of a 'soft spot' for Farecla as theirs was the first proper compound I used over 20 years ago as an apprentice mechanic! Pretty sure from memory that it was still Farecla G3 Rubbing Compound but it came in a big yellow tin - I'd only ever used Auto Glym SRP before this so was my first experience of what a proper compound can do and it blew my mind! Good to see they're still relevant, very professional brand 👍🏼

Sometimes an electric buffer will take all scratches out if not very heavy and even then they can take out most.

See yesterdays video, we are testing all 8 by hand only.
@crazycressy79863 жыл бұрын
@Grey If the scratch is to deep and you take it out with a buffer your only removing your clear coat and thats not a good thing, better off getting them repaired,

this may be a dumb question, but would this product work on a flatscreen tv with lots of light scratches?

I think any of these products would be too abrasive. I would imagine them to leave a cloudy finish on the screen.

Farecla of course Dave, been around for donkey years...their roots firmly in the Body repair world and have had some difficulty in creating a detailing specific product range (G3 Pro) and of course Farecla G3 was/still is their mainstay compound (use to smell of ammonia & came in a dulux style paint tin😂)...nonetheless their products do a good job...and I've trialled their latest DA compound & polish which work very well. Anyhoo enough waffling from me!...this product did a good job right...but needs to come with the applicator, if it specifies it. Looking forward to the next product...Great vid👌

Hey Andy. 🖐 It was a very pleasant surprise to be fair. Set a great benchmark for the week! Next video out in 15 mins reviewing the next one. 😉👍
@denisewoodham69462 жыл бұрын
I bought the tube before I realised it needed a special applicator. Being of the 'fairer sex' I did not want to stand reading in the middle of a male dominated area. I just chose G3 because I use G3 Pro products on my car (I love the dry wash). When I read the instructions in detail also watched the video I realised my mistake! However I used a foam washing up pad lightly dampened and that worked very well indeed. ‘Don’t Panic' is an excellent saying!

Hi my car got badly two big scratches when I was parking near a pillar. So should I use G-3 or do you recommend some other product. Also is this G-3 worthy like will the scratch return in some weeks or days after car wash etc. Like I am really sad and this auto shops are mad expensive 😭
@DetailingandtheBeast2 жыл бұрын
Two parts to this, any repair will not come back, that indicates fillers, this is a compound that removes a scratch, not fills it. 2nd part is it will work depending on the scratch, if it's broken through the clear and into the colour or worse, the base coat, this (or any other product) will NOT work. That would require a respray or smart repair.
@worldcreation32022 жыл бұрын
@@DetailingandtheBeast now they are like 2 white scratches on the car. I bought this product knew it wouldn’t completely remove but it did nothing even after applying it still looks the same. Now should I take it to auto shop and ask them to what ? Like what is the cheapest option. Also do they respray a certain area. I don’t think so .
@DetailingandtheBeast2 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what a "Smart" repair is. Cheap and small. Yes it can be spotted if you look hard enough, and some repairers are better than others, but yes, basically they spray part of the panel and try to blend it in.

@DetailingandtheBeast3 жыл бұрын
A very very light polish. The problem with those is that most polishes are too harsh and induce marks of their own making (hazing and holograms). I've personally had success with the AD final finish polish, and the meguiars microfibre finishing polish. I guess most finishing polishes would be ok. Koch M3.02 is another I like for that final gloss up. You can use all these above by hand. 👍

Does it work on powder coat?
@DetailingandtheBeast2 жыл бұрын
I know first hand that powder coat is ridiculously hard to cut with anything like this. It's designed for lacquer primarily. I'd say any sort of powder coat correction is to be done by machine and heavier compounds.

How long do results last
@DetailingandtheBeast Жыл бұрын
This isn't a "filling" polish, it's an abrasive, so it's smoothing out the scratch by removing surrounding clearcoat. So in answer to the question, it's permanent.
@sparkeli45133 жыл бұрын
I used this and I was really disappointed with it. It doesn't last long before you need to re do it.
@DetailingandtheBeast3 жыл бұрын
I can confirm it's not full of fillers, in my testing tomorrow I use an IPA wipe to clear all 8 products of any fillers before marking them on scratch removal ability. 👍
