Me and my class haven't gotten to nail guns yet and were wondering what the cordless guns ran on, so this is perfect timing, thanks Dave. If not a paslode, not a cordless gun, are there any pneumatic guns that come recommended? Some to avoid? We use a lot of DeWalt power tools at school and I gotta say the sight on their circ saws kinda makes me not look forward to using any other tool of theirs lol

Hey! I want you to try DeWalt DCN45RN it’s gonna good comparison with Paslode Coilmaster .

I’ve been a chippy in Melbourne for 8 years never heard anyone to tell Me to make new holes when using a coil gun. Can you please inform me where you have found this, When we shoot of tie downs if the boys miss the holes

I get upset as it look like shit And will fail inspections
@jordandiiorio36052 ай бұрын
There is no aus standard or truss plans that say that to lol has to be wrong

I’ve had multiple frame inspectors tell me this. The coil nails need to be at least 5mm away from the pre drilled holes. It’s only been this year that they’ve started to crack down on this

@@DaveDoesCarpentry but where is that actually documented, that’s what I’m saying some inspectors like to sounds smart with no evidence

Pretty sure I’ve read it needs new holes on the pryda specs on there website

I think your assessment regarding the bump fire bares no relevance. If you set the depth on the Coilmaster then you’re installing the nails correctly. If you used air as you would know as the psi drops and the depth of the nail changes as well. So I find the coilmaster more accurate. PS: Paslode told all the hardware stores the Duo fast nails weren’t compatible with Paslode because they are wound in the opposite direction, all you have to do is unroll the coil and then it’s the same as the Coilmaster. Duo-fast has been owned by ITW for a long time. All nails are made here in Oz so there’s no difference it’s just marketing bs. You may have noticed the Duo-fast nails have increased by $30 for no reason in the last 12 months and Paslode have started replacing there duo-fast with their nails with gas.

How does the the no bump fire bare no relevance. That is a stupid comment the no bump fire is the main reason no framers will buy this gun. If you have 50 sheets of ply to brace a house and about 100 nails per sheet that’s 5000 times you need to pull the trigger and it’s a very firm trigger pull. Sounds silly but your trigger fingure will be aching after the first sheet

@@dme6991 I agree the bump fire is a better option. Paslode do not plan on make the Coilmaster a bump fire any time soon. I met Paslode Australia and American bosses last week and I asked why this new model didn’t come with bump fire.…They just shrugged their shoulders. We tested the framer bump fire 2 1/2 years ago. Never got released here but the Yanks got it just recently…very disappointing. I can tell you this 🤫 new framer to hit the market next year. We tested it for about 3 weeks in July. 🤫🤫🤫

That’s a bastard that you’ll have to take that sheet of ply off and wrap the wall again 😔
