@Гидра Хаоса I have a lot of respect for Russia and its history... ignoring the last century but I can't see it as a continuation of the roman empire. Byzantium was the last government to able to legitimately claim that title and while Russia does seem to be a sort of successor religiously to the orthodoxy its not the roman empire. Its the same as the Holy Roman Empire only Russia's claim on being the successor to the roman empire is a bit weaker as it does not share any of the same territory. Now maybe you could argue its the third Rome as a symbolic meaning. By that i mean Rome is the center of Christianity, the Constantinople was the secondary center of Christianity even before the schism. So you could easily say Moscow is the successor of Constantinople religiously. But its certainly not a third Rome

I think its now a days, but i remember there being references of Kiev being the third rome at first after they agreed to convert to orthodoxy and the city was built in the image of constantinople. Later the city obviously was ravaged by the golden horde and in a later date russia inhereted the title as i remember in some dubious circumstances and perhaps as a middle finger for the ottomans. Nevertheless it has zero meaning now a days

Yeah I'm hitting that same struggle and it's tricky. France might revoke their guarantee, and they might not; it entirely depends. All I do know is that fighting France in 1937 as Greece is only going to go one way unless the AI just screws up everything and lets you win. Which is a distinct possibility mind you, but boy is it unlikely. Update: I have done it! This one really just takes trial and error. The faction trick with Italy is still a good way to go, and you can even hang onto them for a while. Bulgaria and Albania are very reliable for first targets. I won't go on about how the entire game went because it was bonkers, just know that in 1942 I had succeed in reforming the Empire and was in a faction with the White Russians. Yeah.

The Little Entente guarantees are added with La Resistance now. I would recommend keeping Italy out of the war while in your alliance so France stations troops on the border of Italy. You may want to develop some garrison units to deter a French invasion. It will be difficult but if you micro like Dave in the video you might do alright unless the French really decide to fuck with you. However, if you call Italy in, their Navy may ward off French troops from naval invading you or landing in Yugoslavia. However, they will want to take parts of Yugoslavia in the peace deal, so try to take the victory points first so states are cheaper for you and more expensive for Italy. You probably know all of this and I probably just told you things you already know. You could be cheeky and join the axis and have them help you fight Italy in your Albanian war. It may save you a war with Germany later on if you want to do a triumph for Italy. Good luck with your restoration attempts.

Hey FeedBack, I'm pretty sure that artillery expert only makes a difference on divisions classified as "artillery divisions", which for 40 width divisions requires 6 artillery battalions rather than 4. The country that has the "best claim" to the third Rome would be Russia(Grand Duchy of Moscow at the time), and Moscow due to it being the new center of the Orthodox faith after 1453 when Constantinople finally fell to the Ottoman forces. They had a doctrine, where the Moscow Prince would act as the Sovereign and legislator of Christian Orthodox nations, and a sort of defender of the faith. Some Eastern Orthodox people even nominated Moscow as the "New Rome". It was further developed when during the reign of some Russian ruler (I forgot who) called himself Czar, or Tzar. Even by the rules and laws of inheritance, Ivan was able to claim he was the heir of the fallen Empire, but the fallen Empire never acknowledged those laws. The Ottomans also had claims to it as well with Mehmed II declaring himself Kayser-i Rum. The claim was recognized by the Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople even. His strongest claim though was that Constantinople was the seat of the Romans, and the Ottoman capital becoming Constantinople after the fall of the Byzantines. The title did basically turn to dust after his death. The Greeks had claims to it due to them having the language of the Byzantines, and culture in a way as well. The idea was more of a nationalist aspiration though (often referred to as the Megali Idea as well) which fell to dust after the Greco-Turkish war. The Serbians also had a claim, which didn't last long. There isn't much to expand here other than the claim kind of died before the fall of the Byzantines in the first place. The Bulgarians had a claim before the fall of the Byzantines, and their flag was similar to the Byzantines during the time they had the claim. Like most other claims, this came from really only one ruler who called himself "Emperor of the Romans" and it broke into war between the Bulgarians and Byzantines over this conflict. Eventually the Byzantines recognized him as "Emperor of the Bulgarians" at the time. The title "tsar" was adopted by all Bulgarian monarchss until their fall under Ottoman rule. The Spanish claims is interesting actually. The claimant Byzantine Emperor ceded the Roman Imperial crown to Spain after their union together in his will. Many cities and institutions in the Kingdom of Spain still use the double-headed Roman eagle. The Latin Empire, a Crusader state tried, and horridly failed to hold themselves as successors to the Byzantines in the late 1200s while putting a Catholic ruler on the throne. The Byzantines ended up retaking the land anyways. (The Latin Empire literally didn't even own all of Greece. How the fuck are they an empire) The Third Rome claims have been brought through the Holy Roman Empire as expected. The HRE was an attempt at the Western Roman Empire if I remember correctly, despite it not really... making sense honestly. The German Empire claimed to be the Third Rome through the HRE lineage after its formation in 1871. This is shown in the German king being called "Kaiser". The claims were heavily criticized because Germany was led by a Protestant ruler, and they had never even discussed it with the Catholic church. Their coat of arms was an eagle as well. Being the Emperor of the HRE for so long, Austria laid claim at the heir of the HRE after it was dismantled and attempted to unite Germany under their rule. They failed, obviously. Their coat of arms was incredibly similar to the HRE's. French Claimed the Third Rome through the First French Empire. Napoleon transformed his empire into one modeled on the Roman Empire, and even called his own imperial crown "Crown of Charlemagne" which was also considered a lead to the Western Romans anyways. Probably the most famous claim to the Third Rome was Fascist Italy. Mussolini heavily used Mare Nostrum in his propaganda, and referred to his Italy as a "New Roman Empire" or "Third Rome". The third after the Imperial and Papal ones. Romania had considered themselves some sort of successors to Rome, and even Romanian historical work stated that the Romanians "All come from Rome". In the 1300s, it was stated that the Balkan Vlaches "were once the shephards of the Romans" who "had over them ten powerful kings in the entire Messia and Pannonia" Through some inheritance, and separation from the Roman Empire, people talk about Finland being the "legit heir of the Roman Empire" There really isn't a lot of claim to this, but it is there. I feel this is one of the weakest claims, even despite most of these claims being rather weak. As an interesting fact, others consider America as a sort of "Fourth Rome". It has been a Great Power since it's independence (yes, it has. It may not have been as powerful as the UK, or France, or whatever but it was STILL a great power due to size, budget, etc), and it's scale from the Louisiana Purchase on has been comparable to the Roman Empire. It it multi-ethnic and multi-racial, and at least since 1940 had a huge military establishment. It has often aped Roman architecture, and Americans do things on a big scale like the Romans did. America has an eagle as their national Symbol. There are a lot of parallels between the Roman Republic, and the United States of America, and a lot of differences, but something interesting to think about nonetheless. ~Alyssa

If one considers the fact that the Byzantine emperor at the time of the fall of actual rome was one half of the empire, and they officially recognized Charlemagnes claims to the western half as the Holy Roman Emperor, it could be argued that there was never a second rome, just a broken throne to rome and it only finally ended after the Napoleonic wars. That being said the strongest claims to the title of fourth rome is the United States, so they could be technically the second rome and by extension it means that the third rome is whatever nation eventually takes the claim from the US'S ashes.

Nice. I forgot the French myself and have never heard of the Romanian's claim. The original Russian claim comes from Vladimir Monomakh, who was the grandson through an Imperial Princess of Basileus Constantine IX Monomachos, thus the Tsar's Monomakh Cap (more literally inherited, apparently the original hat came from Grandpa). Oh, and Tsar is the Russian form of Caesar (cae-Sar), or more accurately Slavic. The first Tsar was Serbian, in like the 9th Century, not Russian. The first Russian Tsar is Ivan Grozny. Worth noting that the German title of Kaiser is also German for Caesar, and closer to the original Latin form than anyone else (C is hard in Latin, it is NOT See-sar, it is Kai-sar).

I would appreciate an advice video for doing difficult naval landings. As Italy trying to take the last Allied holdouts (in the med) in Malta and Gibraltar is just so frustrating. I tried with marines as well but the entrenchment appeared (?) to be the main reason I wasn't making it. It's possible my templates were trash as well, idk. And the allies still had a big navy, America had joined, Japan had lost to a bum rush naval invasion by the US. Which tbh totally killed my interest in continuing that save but hey. I think figuring that out would help a little. I mean, I don't care that much, it was my first game so, it's likely going to be a shitshow. As paradox games experience has taught me. The first game you play will likely be the one with the most mistakes. I probably didn't push for the right industry. Should I have not bothered with heavy ships and naval bombers? Probably though I do like the naval bombers for contesting the mediterranean. But yeah, naval landings against well entrenched enemies would be good to learn about. I’ve tried this method a few times. I’ve had two issues. First is that the flip to fascism happens several months after it did in the video every time: second is usually there is no way to time the justifications because after you start one the next is plus 50%.

It depends on when you discredit as the amount of fascism support you gain a day depends on political advisors, focuses and the amount already in place so if you were to discredit early you may be making it longer for yourself while if you discredit at 40 or 35 (as you get options of 5% fascism increase sometimes) and then referendum you will be saving time

Its clear something else is going on. The second part of your argument is technically true but not in practice since justifying takes about a year and usually china v japan and spanish civil war bring it above 25%, making england and france go nuts with guarrantees.

I am facing many problems with paratrooping and invading by sea... Why doesnt the tutorial include this attacking way?? I just dont get it what should I do, I check the air and navy superiority in all close sea and land regions; all green, then I check if the paratroops/divisions are in an air base/port... I order the ENTIRE fleet to support the naval invasion... I check the amount of planes/convoys I need... I check if the paratroopers have the transport planes they need, I check the range in which the plane can reach, I give them a special leader with medals etc., the attacking arrow shows the amount of divisions I ordered to attack, I press execute... still nothing, then I remake the process, I press execute, enter... NOTHING... WTH?? PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, It took me about 4 Hours, with a little start stop and looking up stuff from this video, but everything went super flawless! Thanks! Great Vid! I also recommend one thing. Bring over your navi (b4 the war) OR deploy a single sub in the sea above turkey (once u took bulgaria u get ports there) (forgot its name) and simply naval invade after taking istanbul. Then just smash through with your entire 24 troops while letting germany stack istanbul. Easy turkey. :)

Exactly, same problem here. I've tried it three different times, alternating between selecting Albania and Yugo as the first country to justify against. I almost had it last time, I was halfway fighting through yugo and the dow against Albania was almost ready, but then Albania submitted to Italy! Guess that last one is just bad luck, if they would have done it later I could have had it.

Its not your fault, Feedback is on an earlier patch. They reduced the effects of the party influence at higher levels now. you can always rollback to his patch (1.7.1) to recreate his game

Good method. I must be in double digits on attempting this challenge until I found this. I nearly got it following this on a run just now. For some reason the Soviet’s decided to fabricate on Hungary manually in early 1940 and took Muetania off me days before I capitulated Turkey. Was on historical AI, they had the Great Purge debuffs, France already gone and the Soviet’s still somehow managed to overrun Germany and the entire border 🤦‍♂️ I rage quit after capitulating. It was like that time I was on my 8th or 9th attempt as Communist Denmark (non-historical AI) aiming to take Stockholm only for the the UK to undertake an amphibious invasion of Stockholm and then arrived a day before my troops 🤷‍♂️.

I wish I had done this achievement sooner. Not sure the best way to approach it now because the Albania-Italy trick does still work, but Yugoslavia starts the game being guaranteed by France now. So if you go after them first you have to deal with a major power right out of the gates, and that's not great for Greece. I've been trying going for Albania and Bulgaria first, and they're not tough to take out, but so much can go wrong with Yugoslavia. Honestly curious what a post-La Resistance strategy would be.

Be at war with someone they don't like (Yugoslavia) and then they might join. So first declare on Yugoslavia, invite them, and then declare on Albania
