Thank you, Dave for taking the time to make these videos. I have been visiting the New Forest every year since I was born, but sadly not this year due to the pandemic. Being able to watch your videos makes me feel as though I am walking in the forest with you and Logan and has been making me very happy :)

Another great video Dave. Not 100% sure but your sea eagle looks a bit like our golden eagle here across the pond. Found in Labrador and northern Quebec. We have a great number of bald eagles here in Nova Scotia. Great to see the efforts to reintroduce the sea eagle in the UK. Bravo.

Yes, those Sea Eagles have created a lot of interest locally.

Another beautiful and entertaining walk Dave. The old Eagle Oak was interesting. I’ve never heard of or come across that before. You’re fascinated by the ants nests. Am I correct in thinking they get quite warm in the centre. I’m not sure the gamekeepers will be too happy about the re introduction of the eagle. I suspect it could possibly take young lambs as well. Don’t get me wrong. I love birds of prey, especially the Red Kites, which are everywhere nowadays. Because they tend to fly fairly low, their beauty can clearly be seen. I still remember the first one I ever saw. I was sitting on my tractor near the Chute Causeway, when the huge bird landed quite close by. I could see it had been tagged and later found out that they had been released in Oxfordshire. That was in the 1980s and now they’re very common. Sorry to ramble on...

Yes I was wondering how the farmers in the North were going to react with Eagles flying up from the South!

Hi Dave, a great video which inspired us to visit the Eagle Oak today. We started our 6 mile circular walk from the car park near the deer sanctuary, which was a mistake as the return walk along Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive was all uphill! Anyway, as you say, the tree wasn't easy to find but we did find it after a while, and after referring to some photos online to check we had the right tree! 😊

Hi Ann. So glad that you found the Eagle Oak - it is a lovely old tree but is a bit "off the beaten track"!

Hello Dave, I really enjoyed this video lots of good information and a friendly commentary. I have a lot more to learn about this video making. I think the tape around the tree might be to inform the forestry contractors that there is an historic feature. The FC have done a lot of damage to these sites in the past and even in the last few years have damaged protected sites like Studley Castle. All the best Peter

Thanks Peter. It was an interesting site to explore. Your thoughts certainly make sense as I think there were 4 trees that had tape around them - one in each corner of the site.
