Well done Dave, a pint well deserved. I expect you know it anyway but there's a decoy at Abbotsbury Swannery, a place well worth a visit, or indeed to plan a circular walk from, or maybe a walk to it from The Elm Tree inn at Langton Herring. Cheers, don't mind if I do ..........
@DaveFord2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, we did a lovely walk at Abbotsbury but we couldn't go near the Swannery as they don't allow dogs there (but we did get a good view of it from a distance!).Cheers.Dave.

What a beautiful walk with several points of interest along the way! Sand seems to be a thing for whippets as when I borrowed one for a walk I went near a bunker on a disused golf course and she slipped her lead and had several moments of zoomy madness!

Thanks Jean. Yes, Sand is certainly Logan's favourite surface for "Zoomies"!

“Logan loves sand”❤. My greyhound “Swift” loved sand so much that i built him a figure of eight sand track in the garden ( he naturally chose to run that shape!!). How I miss that boy 😢

Thanks Lavinia. It was a very peaceful area - and the views from the top of the hill fort were stunning.

Another cracking episode Dave. I was going to ask you about the UFO in the sky in a couple of your still photographs but I then slowly realized that there was a spec of dust on my screen. 🤣 Oh dear! Rachel TS

I'd always wondered what a "decoy" pond was, having seen a few of them about. Your Technical Research Hound does a great job of finding out the facts for us! Thank you both.

Thanks. It just looks like a pond and yet really it was quite complex back in the day!

I’ve recently found your videos, and love them. It’s great to find a KZbinr who obviously does his research on the history of the sights he finds 👍🏼. It’s inspired me to get my own boots on and start some day walks for 2023. Do you mind if I ask what video camera you use? It looks like a GoPro, but the image quality in some of those dark churches is quite remarkable. Cheers Gareth
@DaveFord2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Gareth & indeed welcome to the channel! Yes, I use a Gopro 10 (& a Canon Powershot SX530HS for still photos). Being an action camera with a small sensor, a Gopro will never be fantastic in low light. If I keep the camera still then it is not too bad but as soon as there is any significant movement, then the image stabilization starts to go downhill & the image quality is affected. I have to edit out a fair bit of my "inside" footage because of that & use still photos instead. I have started to just have the Gopro set still on a tripod inside churches now - in order to keep the steady image. Having said all that, the "low light" performance of the Gopro 10 is significantly better than the Gopro 7 (my first Gopro). Where the Gopro 10 really excels is in sunny, clear conditions outside - the image stabilization is so good that you really do not need a Gimbal now.

Eenden-kooi pronounced ayndun-cooy. 👍

Thank you Henry. When out filming "in the open", the odd mistake can creep in & in this case the mispronunciation was down to me misreading my notes. I tried to rectify the situation by adding a correction - by way of text, showing the correct spelling - on screen afterwards. Thanks for watching. All the best.
