How to make a bird feeder out of a tin can. Nice way to recycle a food can and turn it into something useful. Fill it with seed and watch the birds come.

Pretty neat. Might I suggest drilling a few small holes on the bottom of the can so if water gets in it will drain so the seeds can dry out.

I see this video is 6yrs old , only saw now for the first time ! I love the idea! I can't understand why so many negative comments! If you don't like it lump it! Than - you - this is make your own bird feeder video no. 4 and it's the first one that gets to the point. May I suggest gluing twigs on the outside so it looks less like a tin. Yes I did enjoy!

FOR ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS TOXIC TO BIRDS YOU ARE WRONG. Cans nowadays no longer have tin in them and are made from aluminum. Aluminum is perfectly safe and nontoxic. Also, for the people saying the birds with get burnt or frozen because of the can, the birds are only touching the wooden dowel. I hope this clears up some confusion.

Simple idea which would be ideal if made out of wood or if placed in a very deeply shaded area. If it is left in bright sunlight in the summer it will become fiercely hot and injure unsuspecting birds. A plastic container with easily fixed half circles of wood at either end is a better option.
