Tip for anyone visiting Peggy's Cove - the fishermen are not actors, they are actually working. So don't treat them or their boats like they are part of a show. I have seen more than a few tourists just wander onto their boats while they are working. The folks here are friendly, but the fishermen don't take too kindly to that lol. Great vid, thanks for sharing! Next time you'll have to show the stairs into the harbour that are in front of the new Muir hotel.

I think the origin of the donair comes from Syria and Lebanon area. Halifax is my favorite small city in Canada, it has so much to offer and the people are awesome.

The Nova Scotia donair was invented by Peter Gamoulakos in 1970 who was from Greece. He tried selling the Greek gyro, but, it didn’t sell. So he made it with ground beef instead of lamb and made a sweet sauce to put on it. It was an instant hit and a favourite food here. My husbands older siblings worked for him at that time . You can get them pretty much every pizza place here, but, King of Donair is still my favourite. Damn now I am craving one.
