My bed is near also. Between 2 and 6 baby scorpions escaped last year. One old tank had a thick silicone seam they could climb and a bunch just disappeared by the time I saw it happening.

@@daveslittlebeasties 👋😊🐛 Perhaps they are but I'm not so cool as the centipede! It's fascinating learning something about them though that's for sure. I'm happy we have small diffrent ones in Sweden who can't hurt us...puh! I don't mind those larger non venomous centipedes...those big black giant centipedes from Africa. Some time back i read about a new find of cetipede ( in the Mekong region or deltha) a bright red cetipede who was deadly and produced pure cyanide.😱☠ www.expressen.se/nyheter/nya-arter-upptackta-i-sydostasien/ I found the article about it in the Swedish newspaper Expressen. It was published on December 15th 2008. They also talked about in the same article about finding ( in Laos ) the world's biggest hunting spider 🕷 with a leg span of 30 cm. You can see in the photos to after the red cetipede.

15:38 look at the speed at which this beast went into the trunk. In my opinion, these guys are just the ultimate killers in the animal kingdom all proportions kept : they're incredibly fast, they can swim, they have a super potent poison, they're extremely hard to kill, they're super powerful, yada yada yada...there's no animal out there that's as scary as them in my opinion. Even Goliath Bird eaters seem easy to deal with compared to a scolopendra gigantae for example.

Great video! They are scary looking creatures and their bite is quite nasty. Very informative on how to manage them properly, and a great setup you create for them. PS. For anyone wondering: 'Dubia' = largish Central/South American cockroach and 'Mycosis' = fungal infection, promoted by damp/humid conditions (like tinea!). And the 'forcipules' through which they inject their painful venom are actually modified legs, a curiosity of the centipede species, most other species like spiders have dedicated fangs to do the job of injecting venom.

Like you, I try and explain to people most animals will leave you alone, but let's face it Dave, these have "DON'T MESS WITH ME" written all over them. Another stellar vid. Dave, I have had no adverse experiences with centipedes, therefore I think they're pretty cool. From certain angles this fella looked like he was made of metallic plates, reminding me of the old Cybermats from Doctor Who (specifically the ones from Revenge Of the Cybermen, it's a Tom Baker one, cool!). Centipedes look pretty low-maintenance, too, but if it bit me, I'm sure my arachnophobia would return in spades...
