I live in North Carolina and My first few spiders I kept were the Carolina Wolf spider. I HIGHLY recommend putting her into a larger enclosure with more substrate. Most of mine live in 2.5 gallon tanks with a generous amount of soil. This is because they burrow underground and even actively hunt so most of them will utilize the full tank. They’re so much fun to own and watch. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I was playing a rpg video game where you fight spiders... right as a spider jump-attacked on screen, I suddenly saw a real life spider flying directly towards my face! the explanation is that a spider had been descending a web strand from the ceiling, which happened to pass in front of the fan... it blew the spider at my face, while tethered by the web... Wolf spiders carrying their babies can give you a good scare if you don't realize they're doing it. Once had one crawling along my floor and not wanting to step on it I nudged it with my foot so that it would move out of my way, didn't notice the babies until a number of them decided to hitch a ride on my sock.

Since it was dark out, I put on the flash for my camera, and the eyes of all the babies on her back lit up like Christmas lights!

@@russellbagnall5577 It definitely isn't, but that doesn't seem to be the thing that turns most people off from arachnids in general, as you often hear things like "Ew, too many legs/eyes". Though it is probably an evolutionary by-product that these things make people nervous in order to avoid damage from them in general, I find it irritating that people's main concern is how arachnids look more than anything else, at least on the surface.

We didn’t treat them with the healthy respect they deserve - a takeaway container and a slip of paper to catch them, then try to feed them moths and cockroaches. Interesting fact - they can live underwater for quite some time. Would regularly pull them out (still alive) from the pool filter. Amazing animals. Thanks for posting!

Saw a decent amount of females with babies on the back too. There was also Melbourne trap door spiders living just a metre away on the other side of the fence, and I would see the wolfies sometimes over there, where I would lovingly scoop them up and place them back out the front. So so many great photo's obtained at that property too. Thank you so much for your videos, I really love them.
