Thats a lovely enclosure, a perfect little part of the world just for her, and what a great pose she gave by her new front door. All these beautiful new enclosures are going to look amazing in the new Beastie Room.

Dave, I think you never met a spider you didn't believe was "absolutely stunning," and rightly so--they are, but this one is off the charts. What a magnificent creature! Wonderful job getting her from old enclosure to the new one and talking us through it. Textbook, as they say. And the enclosure .... in just a few minutes an empty box becomes a work of art. And supremely functional, tailored to each spider. I think they appreciate it ... once they're in, almost every one seems to act like they're coming home. Even this one in her threat posturing instantly found a nicely defensible spot, seemed quite comfortable being there telling the world to back off.

The catch was impressively gentle and smooth. It goes a lot better with your direct, confident approach because shorter interactions mean less stress for the spider. I love the images you gave us of the threat display. On some phone apps for photography, you can lock the focus when it's on autofocus. That way, if it's focusing on the background, you just lock the focus there and then move the camera until the toes of the spider are in focus.

Hey Guys 👋 She's a spicy girl and large too. The colour is fantastic, isn't it? Not one for me just yet at this point in my keeping. You make it look simple Dave. I haven't had to do more than a handful of rehouses in my time, and they've been small juveniles. I have some way to go yet before I can keep a fuzzy like that and be confident I won't cause her any harm during a rehouse. She is a splendid piece of ferocious Nature. Take care Guys ✌️

It is pronounced:" KeeloBRAkis nata-NEE-carum". These scientific names usually start with a word in Greek, and end with a further describing name in Latin. This is why it is pronounced KEELObrakis, and not CHILLObrakis. My favorite spider name is Megaphobema (pronounced " Mega- PHO-behma", which means "Huge fear-inducer"! Absolutely Metal name. 😂🎉

The name is a tongue breaker as we say in Germany. Sometimes I think the experts make a little fun with us hobbyists,like: So? They're in to this species? Let's give it a name then that'll break their jaws! They'll have to earn the right to keeping it then! The enclosure looks great. Fingers crossed she'll make such an impressive castle as the old one🤞🕸

I noticed that the hooks showed clearly against the water bowl, and someone also pointed this out in the comments. Just a suggestion if you are housing a tarantula with certain attributes that you want to show, perhaps a piece of contrasting colour card might help to highlight it when zooming in. (I know sod all about filming, so it just a thought mate.)

Would be nice to see you set up the new enclosures then end the video with weeks or months later when the spiders "make it their home" like when they web up their place

@mus0rmus1c33 сағат бұрын
I have a spidering of this species. I can't wait for it to start showing its colors. I'm curious, though, for anyone who's raised one from 1" to adult- does their disposition change as they mature? The one I have, despite being *really* fast, doesn't have the attitude you expect from this genus.
