Looking into & Changing Awkward English in Korean songs

So we looked into some awkward English expressions in Korean songs and changed them to more natural English! We had a lot of fun with this and hope this video is interesting and useful to you guys. Enjoy!

유용한건 맞지만 노래가사는 시와 같다고 생각합니다. 라임이나 운율에 맞추거나 문학적 표현을 위해 생략을 하거나 어색할 수 있는 표현을 쓰는건 전혀 이상하지 않다고 봅니다. 그고쳐주는 건 좋지만, 저 영어가 노래가사에서 쓰였다는건 분명히 해두고 갔으면 좋겠네요. 밑에 영어못한다고 멍청하다고 댓글다시는분들을 위해서라도

Better fixes for I.O.I lyric are "OH, Won't You Pick Me Up" which changes the words but keeps both the meaning and rhythm ... or you can consider that the lyric is not actually wrong, just missing punctuation... "I Want You." is one line, then "Pick Me Up" is a second line which works grammatically.

There's a reason I usually don't go and read the lyrics to kpop songs...Half of these lyrics I have always thought to be Korean cause of the pronunciation or have figured out its English but still understood it wrong like in Pick me; always thought it was "Why don't you pick me up" but I haven't heard the full song too often so its all on me^^

THIS IS SO TRUEEEE!! Thanks for making this video to help Koreans improve their English. I also honestly think that there are waaaay too much Kpop songs that has awkward grammar. Even though i myself enjoy Kpop songs, I sometimes feel sooo uneasy with the way they use English. It's like, "something IS wrong, but oh well just continue enjoying it." I hope they can ask an English teacher first or you, hehe to have it checked and revise if needed. :) Make more videos of this Dave!! I sometimes feel that Kpop songs are the culprit of why my English is doing the opposite of improving. I look forward for Part 2, 3, 4.. As time passed more, many songs can be examined. Will root on you.

I love kpop/k-other music genres but sometimes the english phrases drive me crazy lol but i mean when english phrases are done right, they are done *right* (epik high and gd are pretty good at it) Do you think the kpop industry is looking for konglish translators?? I'd love to work as one 😂😂

Also, this was a really solid video about the biggest thing that has bothered me since I started listening to Kpop xD I do understand sometimes the English needs to have a certain flow, but still, I think it is becoming more important for the grammar to be correct nowadays, with so many international fans fluent in English. i think for pick me, the original meaning was "i want you, pick me up" as in like "i want you" as a statement and "pick me up" as a request haha i'm not sure though
