inspiring story Dave Truly motivating, I'm in my early 30s right now currently learning web development and your journey has just lit a fire in me to continue the good fight. it's amazing how saying yes to new experiences aligns you with people who share your vision. i hope to visit Japan in the future and spend a full month's holiday lol. continue making more personal videos like these and I wish you all the best on your journey.

This resonated with me so much, haha. Your experience sounded so much like mine when I was going through it. I’d love to hear more of the day to day stuff, I bet you have a lot of stories. That work assistance program sounds amazing, my program was free tuition and then once you land a job they garnish your wages to pay for it after the fact. Loved to hear about your experience.

How difficult was it not working while going to the bootcamp? I can't imagine it was stress free. Or were you doing some part-time gig considering visa nonsense here.

I'd saved my horde of squirrel nuts for winter and managed to make it through Ok. I also had unemployment insurance.

What was the advantage of moving to Thailand to start the business? Is that in another podcast? Be interested to hear that story. I'm considering between Le Wagon and Code Chrysalis currently myself, so it would be interesting to hear the rest of the journey.

Cost of living essentially. I could hunker down for a year and pay very little for rent and food. I did just recently do a video of my experience at the bootcamp. That could shed some light for you.

@@DaveTrippin Ah, I suspected as much! Japan is awesome but living near a city can get a bit spendy. I'm out in Nagano, so its a bit less expensive, but we're super far from everything "important". You did another video on your experience other than this one? I'll look it up!

No no my bad. I didnt actually see what video you had commented on. This is the one.

@@DaveTrippin ah gotcha! Thanks for sharing your experience and mentioning HelloWork. I always thought it was something for Japanese folks only, but it’s good to hear you were able to utilize it. I plan to go to one of Le Wagon’s demo days next week so a positive review (even if only to hear you validate trying it to see if it’s actually not for you) was motivating!

Well it was for me, in my way. The project was what I could do best. Others will find their niche. I'm stressing the fact that if you feel out of place, or at the bottom of the class as I was, there's still hope. 😜

If you’re not strong at coding maybe being a PM would be a good career?
@DaveTrippin5 ай бұрын
Could be. That's essentially what I did to build the website while working front end stuff.

@@DaveTrippin Or perhaps an engineering manager although you do need to still know a bit of code just not as much as a full time SE

@@thebigwarthog Yes, I am an odd one, or maybe it's totally common, coding that goes beyond design absolutely crushes my little monkey brain. I never give up though, so coding or whatever else, I'll keep on the good fight. Something always works.
