David Archuleta’s Struggles with Faith & Sexuality Growing Up Influenced His Children’s Book

David Archuleta first hit the scene in 2008 when 30+ million television viewers fell in love with him and made him a fan favorite on Season 7 of “American Idol.” Fast forward to 2021, and David is releasing his first-ever Children’s book, “My Little Prayer” and his latest album “Therapy Sessions” looks at his internal struggles. He joins our “Let’s Get Lit” episode to talk about his newest projects.

This is great! He really talked freely and so well. We all need to know that God has a plan for us and he will strengthen us in our weakness and he will show us the way to become our best selves if we trust in him. I love that boy!

This gave me tears because I resonate with David so much, growing up it was really hard to understand why I had the feelings I had, but i intuitively understood one day that I am this way for a reason and every other gay person has been created the same way we are all created from love 💕 and no matter who we choose to love we will always be loved by our creator. I wish you all the unconditional love and happiness this world has for you David, you are a beautiful light worker here to help raise the consciousness on this planet❤

Your church has put you through Hell. If you had been brought up in almost any other church things would have been better. Yours is one of the most restrictive churches where sexuality is concerned. Everyone is entitled to a sex life. The life of a monk is a chosen life. Very few want that. You are not sinful despite what your church might like to think. Your celebrity gives you a wide audience who will listen to what you have to say. Your story is what you need to spread to benefit others who are in a situation similar to yours. Being attracted to anyone who is a responsible adult is fine. The road to Hell is not paved with love. It is paved with hate. Who you love is your business. You don’t owe it to anyone to love someone you don’t. God may ask for a lot but not that. That’s denying a natural part of you. There are hundreds of thousands of Mormons who tried to stay in the church but felt excluded due to their being gay. You are just one among the many. However you have a louder voice than most due to your career. You have had to do a 180 in your life due to evolving as a human being. That isn’t easy. Don’t be mad at yourself or consider that you are a bad person. You aren’t. You just outgrew the Mormon church and their artificially stringent beliefs. You will find someone who will inspire you to go on in your life and finally allow you to be the happy person you should be. Don’t look back. There isn’t anything there you want or need.
