at 8:34 he has a drive into a Memory Man with low repeats at a high speed and an expression pedal. He could be running parallel out and just using that effect when he pushes up the expression pedal, or he just turns on the Delay and it builds up on its own.

Sort of isn't actually. PTL was done by 2005, even though he didn't announce it until 2006. This performance is the full band, thus he didn't do "The Devil Is Beating His Wife" because that's the acoustic version of Cold Beer & Cigarettes. The song didn't appear officially until his solo EP. Boom. Yes, I realize this makes me the biggest Bazan nerd but I don't care. Guy is a story teller.

David's guitar tone in this is so nice. Anybody know what kind of amp he's using? (or what he uses generally?)
@davidkdanielson7 жыл бұрын
He's used a bunch of different amps. Recently Chris Benson of Benson Amps built him a cab of some sort for his house show stuff(i think i saw it on the Benson Amps instagram). He has also used a Benson Monarch and Vinny. In the past he has used a Dr. Z Maz 18 and Remedy. A bunch of different Fender stuff like a Champ, Bassman. I have no idea what he's using here. You can see at around 8:35 his pedals he's using is a TC Electronic Polytune, Roland EV-5, EHX Memory Boy Deluxe, Xotic Effects RC Booster.

Semantics. The song was a demo being worked on by Dave and TW but PTL was finished before they announced its demise. This is a song of Dave's that was an epiphany of the solo-Dave, not PTL-Dave. I don't know why I care but I just know that it wasn't a PTL song.
