Back in the day Ballon d’Or was given for PERFORMANCES and not trophies. @@LARK-ht7kd In some respects i agree even though i am a fan of Beckham as a player. He was a master of what he did but he was also lacking in several areas. Like it is true that Pires was more impressive than him as a winger even though Beckham reached an higher peak and had a better career. His United CV and the 1999 UCL elevate what was otherwise a rather underwhelming career for a player of his talent. I predict Muller will end up having a better career than Benzema and many will harp on how Benzema is better than Muller. It will be similar to the comparisons between Beckham and Pires.
