aprox half of all first marriages (in US) end in divorce. Higher percentage for 2nd marriage and up. 60% say infidelity was a major reason for divorce. That's a lot of not great people out there. I agree that a commitment should be respected. I respected it during my marriage although my ex did not. That said, it's a bit more nuanced and luckily most people's personal lives are not in the public eye.

Most good-looking men will get women throwing themselves at them, the same as a beautiful woman would be targeted, but if they love their spouse or partner, they would not be tempted, and if so, would make sure it didn't get anywhere. After all, Victoria TRUSTED him to love her enough not to stray, but he did not PROTECT the sanctity of his marriage. Ms Loos did what many women do when being in the company of a desirable man who is on his own, whether he has money, fame or not. This is one of the few cases I think I am going to be biased! I watched the documentary and it didn’t feel for me like David is blaming someone else, yes , he said that he hated seeing Victoria hurt, but not that it’s not his fault! And I watched an interview with them at the time just after they have worked it out and it was clear for me that he was guilty and regretted it, and it was up to Victoria to decide. He even said he didn’t know how she forgave him. I think what they did for this affair in the documentary was good, cause they addressed it as it was a huge part of their life, and said how affected them, but didn’t dwell on it cause it must still be unpleasant and it wasn’t all about it. And I found it ok and in fact respectful not to drag any name in. Firstly, cause they would get into another person’s life(even though people know who they were talking about) and secondly, cause it was about their journey as family and the way it affected them. They couldn’t not say anything, cause they would have been criticised they were hiding it, and it wasn’t their place to go so far to involve again people by saying who they were! I could understand Rebecca replying to her social messages by her fans, but going now speaking with the press, seems more like a fame campaign! For me, David make serious mistakes (and part of that, I think, is because when his friends were goofing around, he was obsessing with trainings and was shy, and when all that attention poured on him and he was left alone, he stepped wrong, not that that is an excuse), but he faced them, suffered and came back to step both his feet on the ground. And it probably really got him to see the people who he loved hurt and that he could lose them for real. So I believe, they have made it till now very well an passed through tough times under everyone’s eyes and sticking together is more than more couples and families accomplish. So , even with these mistakes, I found them to be an inspiring strong family.
