Canelo fought many opponents that were way smaller and older. Do not make any excuses why Benavides does not deserve a title shot against Canelo. The mandatory status will eventually force Canelo to face Benavides at 168. Canelo will choose to fight Benavides or the WBC will strip the title. The boxing fight needs to happen for the fans. Last, Benavides clearly won his last fight at 175. But that is irrelevant regarding the mandatory fight between Canelo at 168.

David looks like a monster weight bullying guys smaller and a lot older. Canelo won’t give him the fight because he knows it is a tougher fight and wants what he deserves. Floyd got over 300 million for Pacquiao and waited on it for about 5 years. Canelo figures out David I. The middle rounds. David won’t handle the power Canelo has. Charlo lost every round and was fighting to survive. David went up to fight a retired 37 year old at LHW that wasn’t every top 10 and didn’t hurt him once and looked very very poor. Went after Andrade, a old washed up MW. Plant, Canelo’s sloppy seconds and was far from his prime. Lemieux who is another washed up me and old. Then kyrone Davis who is everyone’s sparring partner. So let’s compare now. Yeah, Canelo fought some guys that I don’t think are high caliber but he had already gone through big names. He at 27 was already with 54 fights and beat big names at MW, 4 times division champ, held multiple belts, future HOF, and a year or two later he would be undisputed. David’s only top contender has been direll at 27 and 10 years in one weight division and only held an interim and the WBC which he lost to the scales and cocaine. Canelo has a legacy already. David has complete garbage. He’s been pro for over ten years. Canelo destroyed Kovalev when he went up. A future HOF 36 years old and active. David is a hype job and we saw that vs Gvozdyk. Canelo knows David will be a tough fight because of his awkward style and wants the money worth for it. Plus, he doesn’t like him and doesn’t want to put money in his pocket. Canelo never had to chase one guy for legacy. He built his own.
