I saw someone recently claim that all of us were first introduced to the Church fathers by Bercot, this isn't true. I was reading the Church fathers for a few years before I ever heard of David Bercot. - Nolan If anyone finds this quote to be too vague, then listen to six more quotes from Irenaeus, in which he calls baptism "the new birth" and "regeneration," which are synonymous. You will find that all the other church fathers use the same language. It was not for nothing that Naaman of old, when suffering from leprosy, was purified upon his being baptized, but [it served] as an indication to us. For as we are lepers in sin, we are made clean, by means of the sacred *water* and the invocation of the Lord, from our old transgressions; being spiritually *regenerated* as new-born babes, even as the Lord has declared: Unless a man be *born again* through *water* and the Spirit, he shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. - Fragments of the lost writings of Irenaeus, chapter 34 [The Holy Spirit] was poured out in a new way upon mankind in all the earth, renewing man unto God. And for this reason the *baptism* of our *regeneration* proceeds through these three points: God the Father bestowing on us *regeneration* through His Son by the Holy Spirit. - Demonstration of the Apostolic Preaching, chapter 7 This class of men have been instigated by Satan to a denial of that baptism which is *regeneration to God....* - Against Heresies, Book 1, Chapter 21:1 And inasmuch as man, with respect to that formation which was after Adam, having fallen into transgression, needed the *laver of regeneration,* [the Lord] said to him [upon whom He had conferred sight], after He had smeared his eyes with the clay, Go to Siloam, and wash; thus restoring to him both [his perfect] confirmation, and that *regeneration* which takes place by means of the *laver*. - Against Heresies, book 5, chapter 15 And again, giving to the disciples the power of *regeneration* into God, He said to them, Go and teach all nations, *baptizing* them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. - Against Heresies, book 3 chapter 17 This *baptism* is the seal of eternal life, and is the *new birth* unto God, that we should no longer be the sons of mortal men, but of the eternal and perpetual God.... - Demonstration of the Apostolic Preaching, chapter 3

The gospel according to Nolan and Luke, chapter 28:18 "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, therefore, "Go and make disciples of BABIES in all nations, 19 baptizing these BABIES in the name of the Father, and in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teach those BABIES to keep all that commanded you, and so I will be with you apostles until the end of the age." Teach them ALL that Jesus taught the apostles: Luke 14:26 "whatever INFANT doesn't hate his own father and mother, the INFANT'S wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even the INFANT must hate his own life, or else he cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:33 So likewise, whatever INFANT does not forsake all that he owns cannot be My disciple.

Brett, this comment is truly insane. You can make converts of believing adults and also baptize your own infants. You claiming it to be our own invented gospel when we are only submitting to the Apostles and the Church fathers is especially insulting. You act like we are the ones who have come along for the first time in history with a new belief, but in reality it was the Anabaptists who came along for the first time with a novel teaching. I'm not going to engage any further on this discussion in text with you, just let me know when you are ready for a live call. No more messages about it until then.

@thomasglass9491 All of those questions have been answered in separate videos, even David Bercot himself answers that question in his infant baptism cassette. If you were sincerely looking for the truth you would find those answers, Thomas.

Hi guys! This is Jimi from Nigeria. Was elated to discover this channel. Feels like I have finally found my tribe lol. Bercot's settling in with the Anabaptists has certainly skewed the way he reads Church history. Is there an email I can reach you on? Many thanks.

So many know it all little young children like this kid pretending to be geniuses. Compares bercot to a counterfeit? The smugness here is palpable. He’s downing in pride

@justinchamberlain3443 Out of the mouth of infants God has perfected praise. Bercot SHOULD be wiser, being an older man, but he has become foolish because of his allegiance to novel doctrines. I have clearly demonstrated the truth of what Irenaeus is teaching, and that David Bercot has lied about the word paidion and parvulus. Bercot said Irenaeus is not speaking of baptism because "there is no baptism in Hades," but I have demonstrated that there is baptism in Hades. You and Bercot are smug, and unless you turn things around God Himself will rebuke you for your lies and misrepresentations.

Your method of reasoning irrationally is quite... interesting. I am at the 15:26 minute point where you are talking about a quote from Irenaeus, where Irenaeus said that Christ forgave those faithful forefathers of the OT, like he forgave us... to mean the means of baptism was used. But Irenaeus didn't say that. Could he have meant that? Yes it is possible that he meant that but equally possible is he just meant forgive them, since mentioned nothing about Christ dipping or washing them. Prior to that, you quoted Shepherd of Hermas, Simutude 9, ch 16, but as you read what was written, you added some words that was not in the text, that makes it say how you interpret his point was. Irenaeus you added. SOH you added. And you don't ever say "it seems to me" or any other indication of your subjectivity that all flawed human beings cannot help but apply in reading and communication, but I have seen David Bercot do this often for a decade, albeit imperfectly, in his messages. In Luke 16, we see Lazarus on one side of the impassible chasm with 🔥 and ask Abraham for water 💧, we don't hear affirmation that water is there, simply a request. So could water be there in Abraham's bosom, aka Paradise, yes it is possible, but it is ambiguous to its definite presence since it was a request. If the rich man had stated he was hungry could you send Lazarus over with a Tbone steak, would that mean a Tbone steak was there?

Brett, you are being dense. "Yes it is possible that he meant that but equally possible is he just meant forgive them, since mentioned nothing about Christ dipping or washing them." What are you talking about? Water is mentioned! The Angel of Repentance states that those who had fallen asleep received the Seal of the Son of God, then he says that the Seal is the water. Also, I've provided where these quotes can be found and have put them on the screen exactly as they read, I have not corrupted the text like you're claiming. While I was reading the Shepherd of Hermas quote I reminded the audience who the Angel is referring to when he says, "and to them," because most people will probably not be paying close attention. Also, I read the Irenaeus quote word for word, Brett. I did recap it and explain it after reading it, but David Bercot does the same thing after reading Irenaeus' quote (where he will break down what was just said). And you suggest that maybe Irenaeus means that the dead in Hades were simply forgiven and not baptized, then they would NOT have had their sins remitted in the same way our sins are remitted, Brett! If we have received forgiveness in one way, and they've received forgiveness in another then we have both received forgiveness in different ways. And he says at the end of the excerpt, "which sins we should not lay to their charge, if we would not despise the grace of God." The term "grace of God" is used by Paul and the Church fathers to refer to baptism. “It is a washing by which we are cleansed of sins, a gift of grace by which the punishments due our sins are remitted.” - Clement of Alexandria, Instructor of Children There is Baptism in Hades.

To your first paragraph, you partially quoted my comment about the Irenaeus passage and twisted and made it about the Shepherd of Hermas passage. Did you do that on an accident?

@MyU2B-Channel Irenaeus shouldn't be looked at isolated from the rest of the Church fathers and Scripture. We know Irenaeus not only read Shepherd of Hermas but also considered it Scripture (Church History, Book 5, Chapter 8) so why would I look at his quote in a vacuum when it is so obvious that he's drawing his statement from the Shepherd of Hermas? Even if we did look at Irenaeus in isolation, apart from Shepherd of Hermas, I've already shown that it can still be proven that he's referring to the baptism of those righteous men in Hades because if they weren't baptized then their sins wouldn't have been forgiven in the same way ours were.
