That being said David Blaine kind of responsible for that type of magician this days, he was one of the first to bring back that "impossible must be real powers" feel to magic in the late 90's early 2000's He's good friends with Penn and Teller but they've always had this philosophical debate, Penn Thinks the audience should leave entertained but knowing they saw a well elaborate trick but Blaine wants you to leave thinking that you might have witnessed a supernatural event. Maybe he had a change of heart about it I don't know but he still presents the trick as if he's inside her mind.

Juan Tamariz mnemonica stack, performing divination with a subtlety from Asi Wind. The deck is in a memorised order, when they select a group of cards, the card above the break is peeked at and therefore the next 5 cards are known. He then asks her to “put it behind her back” meaning she will touch the card she has thought of, revealing its identity. Then it’s just good acting and time misdirection as you reveal the cards.

it is a bad camera cut but you can see he puts the break card on top of the deck. that is all you need to know the picked cards. plus he did not shaffle the deck. most likely he used new deck
@k_meleon5 жыл бұрын
My theory is that the deck is in mnemonica stack. When she chooses 5 cards, he cuts at the exact place she took them from and peeks at the bottom card while spreading the cards to explain to her what she has to do. By doing this, he knows which are the 5 cards she picked. He then asks her to think of one card she sees, and when he asks her "put it behind your back", he turns over to see what she is doing. Naturally, since he just refered to the card she chose, she thinks it is the card she has to put behind her back. He watches which card she took, and can know which one it is because of mnemonica stack. The shuffle behind her back is just time misdirection. From now on, everything is just acting. He probably got lucky about her thinking the 9 and 8 of hearts were too obvious, and since he knows that the 5 and 6 of spades are right next to each other in mnemonica stack, it would have made sense for her to hesitate between the two. Hope that helped!

@osher naim There is no force needed for this trick. The whole deck is stacked in mnemonica. A mnemonica stack is a deck that can be memorized from 1 to 52. David knows exactly what cards that girl was holding. I was amazed by that trick too first time I saw it on Jimmy Fallon. Then, I learned of the mnemonica stack. And that was how it was done.

Why do you feel the need to shout that out as if you've sussed a great mystery? That takes extreme skill to get that card there without the spectator feeling or noticing anything. Go and try it yourself 😅

but how could he know that card was a 6 of spade?
@augustohernandez41045 жыл бұрын

Everything is simple. He just forced those five cards. He also knew the sequence of five cards. When he asked her to think of any card of 5 cards and put it behind her back, at that moment she touched your card and David saw it. He just remembered its position, it was enough for him. Then he quickly asked her to do it all behind her back. He already knew her card. Then it was an actor play. That's the way magic looks like.

@@vic21071 or he had a stacked deck (memorized deck), so she can take out any 5 cards, that she wants. You can see David looking/spreading through the deck at 3:50

What if the chick decided that she didnt want the 8 of clubs no more & wanted to change it, but the card was already folded under the dude's watch? What would have been Blaine's solution to that?
@TomBush9994 жыл бұрын
Probably about 10 different options for him. He would have produced the card she changed to another way and then at the end he can say "but you remeber your old card? The 8 of clubs?" And then reveal it as a kicker. Its actually a stonger trick if she DOES change her mind, its always more unbelievable if a magician gets a card right that has been changed at the last minute) which is why he asks people about 5 times if they want to change 😅
