Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Stinky weather, fat shaky hands
Dopey morning Doc, grumpy gnomes
[Refrain]
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you
[Verse 2]
Big screen dolls, tits and explosions
Sleepy time, bashful but nude
[Refrain]
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you
[Spoken ad lib]
I'm getting that
[Verse 3]
Intergalactic, seeming to be you
It's all in the tablets, sneezy Bhutan
[Refrain]
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you
[Verse 4]
Mars happy nation, sit on my karma
Dame meditation, take me away
[Refrain]
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you
[Chorus]
Sending me so far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so so far away
[Refrain]
You little wonder, little wonder you
You little wonder, little wonder you
[Chorus]
Sending me so far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so so far away
[Refrain]
Little wonder, little wonder you
You little wonder, you little wonder you
You little wonder you
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you
About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

There will never be another bowie. I was in my early teens during the ziggy stardust era. Bowie on top of the pops was an event on its own. I can truly say i was heartbroken when i heard he died. I was due to actually go for heart surgery shortly after but that news nearly finished me.

Many factors I would theorise; - He got clean of drugs(, aside from still smoking tobacco), he said in an interview on TFI Friday in circa 1999/2000 up until Scary Monsters...And Super Creeps his drug use had been recreational and not influenced any of his creativity - it was afterwards he felts, the drugs informed his creative process instead of his imagination and exterior inspiration and so he was not as proud of his work of that decade as he was before or after the 1980s in retrospective. - He was now happily married to Iman. - His time with Tin Machine re-inspired him to just find and be himself more so all over again and he started experimenting with other genres and working with guys like Placebo and Trent Renzor, and in doing so helped raise their profiles in the music game. - He stopped caring about critics and mainstream appeal like he felt he had done throughout the 80s.

In 1997, the year this video came out, David told a reporter, "I'm not a nostalgic person." This video tells a different tale, though. First he has 3 "Ziggy-ettes" running around throughout. The Ziggy forehead disc is prevalent at 0:15 and especially at 1:05. The Alexander McQueen jacket from "Earthling" pops up throughout, at 0:06 and 0:56, etc. (I know this song is from "Earthling," but still...) At 1:37, Bowie wears an eyepatch. "Rebel Rebel," anyone? Then he wears the contact lenses that represented Thomas Jerome Newton's "real" eyes in "The Man Who Fell To Earth" starting at 1:48. A better shot of the eyes is at 2:35. Finally (lol), there are vampire teeth at 1:56 and 2:07. Perhaps a nod to the movie "The Hunger" starring our favorite Starman? But I may be imagining things, 'cause Bowie wasn't a nostalgic person. Ha! He's so sly, I love it!

I think it's different when it comes to your own work/creations, especially when so many others are heavily invested in your older work, I'll bet it feels restrictive to someone so eager to constantly push boundaries (and do it almost flawlessly each time) these scenes could equally reflect everyone else's perception of who David is... was, RIP.

Brit Pop was nostalgic. Meanwhile Bowie was energised by the likes of Prodigy, Tricky, Goldie. Post Tin Machine, from 'Black Tie White Noise' through to 'Toy' he was obviously exploring/absorbing his very substantial 1970's artistic legacy.

@Steve Keebler Only the Omega persona was borrowed from Ziggy. The name Omega and the Mechanical Animals was meant as a deliberate homage to the stage persona of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, given that Bowie's record and band adopted an alter-ego to further the alien nature of the performance, and similarly, Manson and band were the alien 'Omega', and his Mechanical Animals (multifaceted reference). The Omega and Ziggy logos both have stars included as part of their design, the stars fall over the top layer of Ziggy's logo as the two stars are used as points on the I's of Mechanical Animals. The Omega logo is close in design to a good number of "futuristic" Seventies typographies that subsequently looked very 'of-their-time' in retrospect. This I also feel to be deliberate. Everything else, including songs were inspired from Diamond Dogs. Speaking of Ziggy, listen to his recent album 'We Are Chaos', that has extreme ziggy vibes.

About time. The entire 95-99 era of Bowie is criminally underrated and his sense of adventure, optimism, excitement for what he was doing is legit TANGIBLE on this stuff. 'Earthling' is Bowie at his most future-focused and energetic and I love, love, love it. It's amazing that people will go on about Bowie's boldness and this and that as why he's their hero but then at the tribute concerts, it's always the same 20 songs you expect. Cover fucking 'Earthling' songs!

One of only two albums produced by Bowie, the other being “Diamond Dogs” - some of his hardest music on this album, bordering on metal! Some really good songwriting and playing (Gail Ann Dorsey was his best bassist - so creative), and for some reason “Earthling” has a terrible reputation as a mid life crisis drum and bass album, when its actually rock songs with a jungle flavour. A lot of hardcore fans love this album, it really is uber Bowie.

If you mean of this level of quality then there absolutely is, you simply have to look. Artforms don't really decline as human creativity is what drives them, they simply change. If you mean this style of music I'm not sure on that front. There are probably some musicians who make new songs in that style but none that I've yet found.
