Saw one of these shows in Hamburg, Stadtpark. It was kind of a farewell tour. Bowie claimed to play these tracks for the last time live and then to start something new. In all honesty and despite being happy to have seen him live once in my life and despite that Bowie is always great: a lot of what he did earlier and a lot of what he did later is way more interesting. He felt a bit lost and uninspired during the mid to late 80s. Nevertheless nice to have the chance to re-watch a part of these gigs.

GS was hated by some 70’s fans, not all fans. GS tour was stadium tour all over the world, biggest tour in 1987
@acrylicqualia10 ай бұрын
@@Toni-w4l Even Bowie hated it by the end - the great mother spider set was burnt in a field in New Zealand out of resentment. The laboured theatrics of this show were unsustainable, epitomising 80s decadence. Out of the absurd grandiosity emerges a brilliant collection of camp performances with a diamond dogs-style aesthetic throughline. If we can never see Bowie's art of early 1974, at least let us see its obese, Jungian imitation in 1987

I miss you old friend @David Bowie. I went into the city because my girlfriend was going through something difficult. She loved Bowie, but she also knew I kept my life and worlds separated, so she respected me. Unlike many others, I want proof and shove it; I never offered to take her to a show as a guest. Certain friends respect me and things I will and will not share to date. I knew someone she loved walked in due to the sight on her face, but I thought no way in a living hell of all places I don't even know this pub nore you. I looked over. It was anything but packed; it was quiet other than the music. It was David Dave, aka Bowie. I live in N.Y. raised born, or the Tristate area, so it's never shocked me or impressed me who one may run into. He ordered a drink, looked at me, and smiled, hand up a bit as hello ( I lost count of how many of his shows I attended), and my girlfriend kicked me as if I needed that. I knew his look and gesture, so I excused myself and said please don't faint, or I will be embarrassed. I will always remember the words we spoke and how he looked. I knew something was right. See, if you know anything about me, you'd know I never say Goodbye unless it is the finale or I am at a funeral. So many know never to say those words to me I have lost too many and that is what I related it to. As he had a brief liquor and was leaving, Dave came over (my poor girlfriend was holding it together like a tree in 100mph winds), Kissed my forehead, said hello to her, and said listen to me clearly; Kiddo, do not change for a soul you're a good girl human being Helen was right before she passed. No additional saving Conrad's ( my adoptive dad) ass time to spread your wings again, live love again, and keep dressing yourself. You seldom see any of us with a ho. You're correct. Keep those manners and everything you learned, even in the industry; we treasure so much art. Kiddo, always remember the clubs you were in as a youngster. They allowed you in studio 54 CbGbs and many, additionally remember those tours from each of others. Goodbye, precious youngster, until we meet again, New York, another innocent kiss on my forehead, and he was out the door. It didn't hit me. He said Goodbye until I was driving home, music blasting in, thinking, why did Dave say Goodbye? He knows not to, only to wake up to a call telling me he passed before the media found out. He rarely, if ever, just walked into any place. It was impossible to just be Dave (like him and many others It was impossible to just be Dave (like him and many others in that day and age. I am very private even though many assume I am not; I am highly). It wasn't like the late 70s or 80s and I was still a young young child. I hold Bowie close to my remembrances and soul, and I truly wasn't a Bowie fan; nevertheless, specific tunes of his hit me hard, and this is one out of idk 30. Yeah, rebel - rebel. Loved his wife dearly and daughter and loved his privacy he's missed dearly. This was a fantastic tour MSG and a few other he invited myself and late husband who passed at 29 in 94. There are many good eggs in this industry and many many many too many toxic ones who don't care about anyone (even their own fans some can be very scary). Not Dave who I first met when I was 8 walking in quickly to see this CBGBs begging the driver stop as he brought me home from every show I worked on Broadway. I was hooked and found exactly my scene at 8 years old.......... I miss way to many friends and am grateful for the tracks shows just to hear their voices ... seems like voices are the first one forgets
