Lyrics
I know when to go out
And when to stay in
Get things done
I catch a paper boy
But things don't really change
I'm standing in the wind
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
There's no sign of life
It's just the power to charm
I'm lying in the rain
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
Never going to fall for
(Modern Love)
Walks beside me
(Modern Love)
Walks on by
(Modern Love)
Gets me to the Church on Time
(Church on Time)
Terrifies me
(Church on Time)
Makes me party
(Church on Time)
Puts my trust in God and Man
(God and Man)
No confessions!
(God and Man)
No religion
(God and Man)
Don't believe
In Modern Love
It's not really work
It's just the power to charm
I'm still standing in the wind
But I never wave bye bye
But I try
I try
Never going to fall for
(Modern Love)
Walks beside me
(Modern Love)
Walks on by
(Modern Love)
Gets me to the Church on Time
(Church on Time)
Terrifies me
(Church on Time)
Makes me party
(Church on Time)
Puts my trust in God and Man
(God and Man)
No confessions!
(God and Man)
No religion
(God and Man)
Don't believe
In Modern Love
Modern love - Modern love - Modern love - Modern love

About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

First concert ever, I was 6 in Germany. It was in the 80's, and I had no concept of music. When he sung, it was like watching Superman fly. I remember instantly thinking who is that and how is this happening. Immediately my worldview (musically) changed. Not drastically (I was 6) but was definitely a catalyst, and my love/appreciation has grown as I've gotten older.

Russell - I saw Davie Bowie in person live in Vancouver on August 8, 1983 for $20 at BC Place Stadium when Modern Love just came out on his LP Let's Dance which was his biggest selling LP in his life. I started out by buying his Ziggy Stardust LP when it first came out in 1972, it was out of this world great.

I had the pleasure of seeing David Bowie in concert in 1983 during the Serious Moonlight tour and he was on fire! What a great song and great show! Only a man as charismatic and gorgeous as David Bowie could look so good in a canary yellow suit! He was a once in a lifetime talent and his death left a void in pop/rock music that can never be filled. R.I.P. What do people think about David Bowie accepting the flowers from a fan and seconds later giving them to another fan? To me it seems like he took the flowers to give that fan fulfillment, appreciated the flowers for those few seconds and gave them to another fan to make them happy because he is a giver who already has so much that he would rather make someone else happy if he can. David Bowie made this gesture classy.

I had seen him in 83, His song writing, creative vision he not the type can copy, band today lost what he had, "ashes to ashes" the video has creative aspect not seen today, who is able to bring such lyrics he brought out. Bowie mentioned at one time 90% artist voice altered now, they never seem same on concert. 2 band that have great creative singers Phantogram and Metric(Canadian band) have expectional song writers, that demonstrate creative aspect that are natural gifts.

For probably the last 20 years(at least) i've not had to set an alarm in the morning. I waken up with a song or a tune playing in my head, random songs, some of them i don't even like. For the last 4 or 5 days it's been this song. No reason for it, i haven't listened to Bowie for quite some time, it's just a song which has popped into my head for some random reason, and what a song. So i've had to come to youtube, specifically to find it. It's majestic, a special piece of song writing from an absolute master.

Oh puhlease! What's there to be mad about??? There are too many good music out there from the beginning of time that even if you to listen to each one once you will still take a while before the next round ... every generation have their own music...but the great ones get replayed more.

@@rc.... Sorry Buddy, but not every generation can enjoy such high skilled singers / performers/ songwriters. I mean : there's no Proust or Einstein at each generation. Don't fool yourself. This guy was great at such a level that any today's popular singer would just dream to be as creative, influencial, respected, surprising as him. I like todays singers. But I hear and I see just nice things. Just check by yourself and get interested into that man's career
