Pay, pay, pay, pay, pay, pay, pay, pay, pay, pay is that all he can say? Because of high (sometimes very) high taxes, many can NOT afford a tithe, let alone 2nd and 3rd tithe.

EXACTLY! It's HARD enough to pay for tithes. Where I am, taxes are particularly high compared to where I've lived before, and it's not possible to afford all tithes. It's getting harder for everyone with prices sky rocketing, too. He lives a lavish life, and it's never ever enough. He still wants to keep taking and taking and taking. One of the most selfish and entitled men on this entire earth is DCP.

The 3rd tithe in the OT was the equivalent of a social fund for the widows and poor. Now here's a thing: HWA stated years ago that UK members of the WCG were NOT required to pay that third tithe as they were already paying a proportion of their income in the form of national insurance contributions, which the state deducts from one's wage. Those contributions go towards the state pension upon reaching retirement age (currently 67). They also go towards funding of Britain's National Health Service (The NHS).

@evertonporter7887 I didn't know this about HWA. I thought he also had UK and the EU pay third tithes? Is there any literature on this, as I would definitely like to read about this! David C. Pack also has everyone paying from gross income, which, when you are in the UK/EU, it is not even possible for most. It's ridiculous.

@@exRestoredCOG - In the 1970s in the UK you had to pay 3rd tithe. It may have stopped in the late 70 after I was flung out for explaining that their system of government was the same as the Roman Catholic Church (that was not denied) and for showing that their was nothing in the NT to authorise tithing. I found out later that they had come to the same conclusion in Pasadena regarding tithing but the problem was - "what would happen to the Work if we told people and they stopped tithing".

@fredgillespie5855 Yeah, we had to pay third tithes in RCG under David C. Pack. He removed the year of release as well to have people pay third tithe more regularly. Then there's excess second tithe and tithe of tithe.

They are so desperate that they need to re-imagine the Scriptures to get MORE money out of people. And 3rd Tithe is being placed into the general fund to be spent on anything except the commanded purpose. Things must be really bad over there.

Yes! I know for a fact they are not using it as they should. It definitely must be bad over there to have to re-imagine scripture to get more money. I'd say that in a way DCP saying this is a positive since it means income isn't going well for him but unfortunately many members now WILL cough up more money so it could work out in Packs favor?! Who knows now. I'd hope not... I think some will walk hearing this.

I know, yes. This man just wants to rob people of more and more money. It is never enough. 20-30% of gross income is taken every month, then on top of this, a further 10% of another 10%, then they demand "common" "sell all" and threaten losing your life if you don't. Then they run fundraisers constantly for yet more money. Members live in borderline poverty while the leaders never pay a single tithe, never use 3rd tithe for what it was meant for in the Bible and likewise common, they never have to "go without" and they live in expensive and massive houses, have expensive vehicles, assets, etc.

There is a problem for him in Deuteronomy 12:12 - "And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your MENSERVANTS, and your MAIDSERVANTS, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you." The "Ye" that does the tithing and provides the necessities is the employer and he does so because like his sons and daughters and the Levite the manservants and maidservants have no increase to tithe on. I wonder why he never noticed that?

I just did a Bible word search for "third tithe" not one reference came up. "Third tithe" could not be found. I then did a search for "second tithe" again not one single reference was found.

Do you mean you couldn't find tithes in the Bible? It is written in the Bible in the OT but it is not as this man teaches. David C. Pack has added non biblical rules as well for the purpose of getting more money. Making merchandise of men.

@@exRestoredCOGI didn't mean the word "tithe" isn't in the Bible, it is. I just couldn't find even one reference of there being a "second tithe" or a "third tithe" that Pack and others say the people have to pay. The word tithe is in the Bible. One is the yearly tithe to go to and celebrate the feast. The other is the third year tithe which was kept within the gates to be given to the Levites, the widows, the fatherless and the strangers in need of it. As you pointed out, the non Biblical second and third tithes were added not just by Pack but others before him and in other COG groups and tithe gathering groups in general.
