No he couldn’t and he knew that. He went to Brussels with demands before the referendum throwing his weight around. He lost the referendum and would need to return with his begging bowl. There was no way for him to save face. He wanted to change rules in Brussels. With the UK out of the EU he would not be able to change any rules in the EU. The UK is now a rule taker and this still hasn’t sunk in in peoples heads in the UK. Buckle your seatbelt we’re in for a bumpy ride!

He increased the tax threshold, Put in billions to sort out the West country's neglected infrastructure, allowed same sex marriage and rebuild the economy from the mess of Blair/Brown. As someone who is pro-Brexit and wasn’t a big fan of Cameron, I can say he would’ve done a 100x better job than May. And even though Boris might be better ideologically, the situation is too toxic to deliver the result. Cameron would’ve listened to the will of the people (as he demonstrated when he respectfully stepped down) and attracted a broad enough electorate to gain more support. I can’t believe I’m starting to miss Cameron.
